*End of Recap*
I left the house and sighed. It happened!
I decided to not leap nor make a big fuss cause like my grandma, Cameron could be looking over the window and my dad was their. So it be pretty weird.
I walk in my dads car.
"Hey Alison." My dad says. I sense any emotion in his voice which makes me nervous.
"Hey Dad. Did you um. Surf today?" I ask holding my book bag tightly in between my legs.
"Yes. I did. Turns out it was a father daughter competition." He shrugged and my eyes widened. I feel so bad now. I haven't been able to pass time with my dad in a while.
"Oh." I say lowly and look out the window. Silence fills the car and i feel utterly tense. "So Dad i was um told i could possibly be this years Valedictorian." I say trying to make conversation.
"Really?" He said and nodded.
"Yep..." I breath out.
"That's nice Alison." He said and parks in our driveway.
I walk out grabbing my book bag and putting it over my shoulder and stepping into the house. I leave it in my room and see my grandma their observing my paintings.
"Oh hey Ali dear." She smiles and turns around. I notice her nails are painted.
"Grandma did you use my nail polish?" I ask crossing my arms and raising an eyebrow.
"Well yes! You had a delightful color of white." She looks at them happily. I smile at my grandma. Such a happy soul.
"That's nice." I sit in my bed and put my hands over my face.
"You know... Your father missed you today in the competition." She said sitting beside me. "I bet you were with the handsome gentleman." My grandma said and i removed my hands from my head.
"How'd you know..." I say lowly.
"Grandma knows best Alison and if its better. I think you should recompose with your father." She said rubbing my back and i look up to her. Grandma does know best. She may have her things but moments like these i wouldn't change her for nothing.
"Thanks grandma." I give her a little hug and walk downstairs.
"Dad..." I say and sit next to him in the couch were he's watching tv.
"Mom will be home soon with food." He says plainly.
"That's not what i came here for. I actually wanted to see if you wanted to go surfing tomorrow after school?" I ask him and he looks back at me.
"I'd love to." He says tearing his eyes from the tv. I smile.
"Its a deal." I say and we fist bump.
"Just remember to wax the board before." He says and i nod.
"Yeah." I say and walk upstairs.
After that. I take a bath talk with my grandma a bit eat and go to sleep.
*
Next day i feel more relaxed knowing that i made it up to my dad. I stash my bathing suit in a separate book bag and head to school.
