Chapter 2

We stared inside for what seemed like forever, looking into another outside, a small park looking nothing like the one we were actually at. Looking around, I had never seen this park before either. There were a few kids running around, most looking to be around our age, 13. Syd and I then stared at each other in disbelief. "Hannah... what is this?!" Syd said, a little too loud. One of the boys looked over at us, and the wind picked up. As it did, a bright light overtook my eyes, forcing them shut. When I opened them again, I turned to Syd. "This is too weird. I must be dreaming" I turned to go back the way we came, to close the door and forget what I saw, but the scene behind me had changed. I was now in a bathroom, one similar to the one at another park near my house, but not the same one. Syd looked over at me, "No. If you were dreaming, I would be acting like this was normal. I would be a part of it. We're not dreaming. This is real. But how...?" She stared off into the bathroom. "I don't know, but we have to get home. Who knows what kind of alternate universe this is. From the looks of it, I'd say we're in the past." She looked at me with wide eyes. "You're saying we time traveled?!" I shook my head. "Yeah but we must be in a different place too, this definitely isn't Pennsylvania." She looked at me again, waiting more of an explanation. I pointed to a license plate that said North Carolina. They all did. "So we're in North Carolina in the past. Why?" She said. "I don't know. But right now that kid is looking at us like we're crazy," I said, pointing to the boy looking at us. "We should leave the bathroom." She looked at me warily, but slowly pushed me out of the bathroom, and moved to be beside me. "Ok. Lets go."
