The Beginning of Trust (story 2 of ,To End It All)

Memories

Tails had been laying there in the cold metal floor for a long while. The smell of his mint fur and Eggmans polished shoes. The wind blew right threw Tails's fur making him shiver. He knew where they were going. He dreaded it much so. The memories flowing back into his consciousness. Tails remembered looking at Sonic...sure that he would never get to see that blue face again. Sonic's tears when he thought the one person he loved most had been wiped clean off the earth. Tails started to cry a little. He couldn't escape fate. He knew that, but he wanted to be with Sonic so bad. His tears dropped to the floor making a little puddle. Tears of sorrow. Eggman abruptly stopped. Tails stopped his crying. He had to stay strong for Sonic. He didn't want Sonic to see him last as a crybaby afraid to die. Tails wasn't afraid of dieing....he was afraid of loosing Sonic. "Here is my end of the deal." Eggman said pushing the fox off the Eggmobile that was hovering 10ft above the ground. Tails hit the ground hard but couldn't feel the pain it was like his body was numb. The only pain he could feel was of the heart.....and that was the worst kind of pain yet. Sonic looked over at his battle beaten fox. Bloody and beat up. Tails watched as the two villians began their deal making, selling him off like a commodity. "Well you see Egghead I decided I really want the hedgehog more." Amy said smirking. She tried grabbing her hammer ready to strike when something shot out of the air throwing the hammer over the edge of the cliff. "I'm always prepared for any situation you traitor." Eggman said with his eyebrows furrowed. Amy backed up not sure what to do. Tails knew what Eggman was going to do. He got up, he struggled. He began walking over. Sonic noticed with a confusing look. "Tails sit back down." He wispered. Tails looked over nodded and kept walking. "Got to work on our communication skills." Sonic said sarcasticly to himself. Eggman pressed a button a Lazer came out. Tails began hobbling over. His legs still tied together and his tails.  "Any last words you pink traitor?" Eggman chuckled to himself. Tails hobbled faster just a couple feet from Amy. Eggman was to focused on taking out the pink hedgehog. Sonic knew what Tails was doing. "Tails don't!" The Lazer went off. Tails jumped taking the whole blow of the Lazer. He slammed to the ground breathing hard. "Noooo!" Sonic screamed trying to get up but stumbling. The ground rumbled all the noices and firing must have started something. The ground in front of Tails and Amy began to crack. Eggman laughed. "Looks like my work here is done." He floated over to Sonic about to grab the hedgehog. He lowered the Eggmobile and jumped off. "Bam! Crack!" The whole ground shook throwing Eggman off his feet. Sonic looked over the gap had expanded at least another eight feet. The Eggmobile teatered and tottered and eventually began rolling. It rolled like a ball over the edge of the cliff never to be seen again. "Damn it!" Eggman said angrly. The ground cracked again. He looked towards the woods and ran. Tails watched as the villian left. Amy looked around frantically not sure what to do. The ground shook again. Another couple feet of the cliffside was giving way. "This whole side of the cliff is going to fall into that dark abyss!" Amy said scared. The crack was to big to jump over, even if they tried hard enough. Tails put his hand over his chest feeling the wound as the blood dripped on to the ground and his fingers, like rain each splatter a mark of the innocent. Tails looked at Sonic then Amy. He knew what he had to do.
