Marissa felt a lump in her throat the size of a frog when she heard the doctor's words. No way could this actually be happening. She only had sex once... with one guy. Oh No. The guy. The only guy Marissa had ever been with was The Chase Jensen. Marissa began to breath heavily and had to sit down. The doctor cleared his throat.

"Miss. D'Vall, I am sorry you found out this way." the doctor said unsure of what to say next.

Marissa saw her life flash before her eyes. Her first time was her last time... at least for a while, anyways. "oh - okay doctor. Please don't call my mom though." She began to freak out.

"Alright. Only because I feel bad for you and I know this is hard on you, Marissa." He said as he wrote her a list of prenatal medicine she should take and a few recommend gynecologists. After he handed the list to her, he left. Marissa began to cry looking at the paper. She was shocked and in disbelief. She got herself together some what and placed a soft hand on her very small bump on her stomach. How could she be so oblivious? She isn't an idiot... she knows how pregnancy works but it would never happen to her. Chase said he was careful.

Amber and Harper came back to find her and they saw heron the floor with her knees in her chest. Tears stained her cheeks and she sniffled. Amber's eyes widened "Whats wrong, M?" She asked as both girls crouch down to her.

After a short silence Marissa spoke up, "I'm... I'm... pregnant." The end of her sentence trailed off but was still audible. Harper gasped, "Oh my gosh... for real?"

Marissa stood up and wiped her eyes, "Well I wouldn't just say something like that for no reason!" she said rather sarcastically not caring if it hurt Harper's feelings. Amber stood there in shock. "Yeah Harps... she wouldn't joke about that... but how, Marissa? Oh my gosh WHO, Marissa? WHEN?" All of the questions came at Marissa like a tornado.

"Just stop" Marissa yelled then calmed down "I'm sorry I yelled... I just" she sniffled as her friends took tissues to each eye, "I just... can't understand." Everyone sat there in silence for about two minutes until Marissa spoke up.

"Chase, Homecoming night, back seat of his truck" she admitted guiltily.

Harper and Amber looked at each other before Amber said "Chase? In his car on homecoming? Oh sweetheart" they hugged her.

"I can't believe we let that happen... Chase said he would be careful. He wore a condom and pulled out. AT least he said he did... What am I going to do?" Marissa sat up and stopped crying.

"Well you have options you know. I mean, one is horrible and one isn't as bad" Amber began hoping Marissa knew what she was implying then Harper added quickly " but we know you will make a decision best for you."

Marissa didn't have to think very hard "I'm keeping my baby. End of story. I can't just give up a part of me for adoption or even worse, kill it. Everyone is free o make their own choices but for me, there isn't one. What if our mom's got rid of us huh? I wouldn't have brothers." She said remembering that she was following her mother's footsteps in becoming a teen mom.

"Your mom will understand... how are you going to tell Chase?" Amber asked. Marissa sighed. "I don't know... just... we need to leave here. I need some fresh air." She said as she grabbed her purse and headed to Harper's car. The seats were cool which is what Marissa needed.

"We need to go to the game. It is the last game of the season. I will tell Chase afterwards." Marissa said and looked out the window.

"Come on, M. You look so beautiful in that dress. You shouldn't walk home. Plus, it is kind of cold out here" Chase says as he puts his coat around Marissa. She smiled and they reached Chase's truck.

"I had no idea you were such a good dancer. Also, this was an amazing third date." Chase said leaning Marissa against his truck playing with her hair. Marissa blushed.

"You aren't such a bad dancer yourself. And I loved our third date. You are a really great guy, Chase Jensen." Marissa giggled and smirked. The sexual tension was overwhelming between them. Something about the one made the other want them so badly. Chase smiled and leaned in. He placed a signature, sweet kiss on Marissa's lips. Little did she know that that was the beginning of the end.

Marissa had zoned out on the car ride to the game but was woken up by the car door slamming.

"Hey you better get your uniform on, the game starts in 15 minutes." Amber said "but I understand... you don't need to cheer tonight but you still need to come. Love you." Harper and Amber left for the game. Marissa changed in the car but sat there for a while thinking. She decided to talk to the little one growing inside of her.

"Hey there. I am your mother. I know you don't understand anything yet but I love you. I am pretty sure you tossed my life like a salad but it is a good thing I like salads. I have to go cheer for your... father," that killed Marissa to say, " but then we will tell him about you. Then we will tell grandma."

Marissa climbed out of the car and joined her friends on the field just in time for the players to come out onto the field. She put on her cheering face and the boys (and girl kicker) came out onto the field. One after another the players entered surrounded by screaming fans. Then she saw Chase. All of the feelings came back when they made eye contact. Chase smiled at Marissa and stopped walking for a quick second. Her first instinct was to say "Good Luck, Chase" and his first instinct back was to say "Thanks, D'Vall," and ran with his teammates. The last football game began approximately 1 minute and 24 seconds after their greeting. Little did they both know that game of life that lied ahead.
