It only took them a few days to get approved to embark on their mission and when they'd gotten it, they wasted no time.
Amon and Kureo headed immediately for Anteiku, quinque cases at the ready, bloodlust apparent in one set of eyes while the others were filled with deep sorrow. If only things could be different.
As they entered the cafe, they found an old man enjoying a conversation with a young woman while they both shared half a sandwich.
When he saw them enter, he excused himself and went over to greet them since he was the owner and all.
"I'll cut straight to the chase Mr.Yoshimura, you're suspected of harboring a ghoul and my partner Amon and I have been assigned to investigate. You don't mind if we look around do you?"
"Of course not but please try not to harass my customers. That's bad for my business."
"Oh I'm positive this won't take long. Come now Amon, let us begin."
"Right."
They began their investigation and asked multiple customers had they seen or heard anything weird going on in or around the cafe but came up empty.
When it was time to check the upstairs apartments, Yoshimura accompanied them and told them that there was only one person who lived there and that she worked for him as an after school job.
They knocked on her door and moments later heard the pitter patter of footsteps come towards the door before it was opened to reveal a beautiful young woman with stunning eyes.
"C-can I help you?"
"Touka, these fine gentlemen are with the Commission of Counter Ghoul and have come to investigate the place. Apparently there's a rumor going around that I'm harboring ghouls."
"That's crazy, please come in. I'm sure you'll find everything in order."
Amon bowed before entering while Kureo just walked in unceremoniously and examined the place with a crazed look in his eyes.
But they found nothing and apologized for their intrusion before leaving Yoshimura and Touka standing in the entrance of the cafe.
"So...could you tell?"
"That everything was spic and span? Yes."
"Precisely Amon. Way too clean for a girl that age and for a cafe that has frequent visitors and multiple workers. Something that clean is meant to hide things. Things like blood. And our ghoul."
"So what do we tell our superiors?"
"We can handle this on our own, no need to get fodder involved."
"Right."
"We'll end this tonight. You and your precious Eye Patch. And that sweet little ghoul who needs to be reunited with her mommy and daddy."
"Understood."
They waited all night until finally the old man closed down the shop and left, the upstairs apartment lights the only thing left on in the building.
They approached the shop and wondered how they'd get in again when they suddenly heard soft landing sounds behind them.
They turned around and found exactly who they are looking for and someone new.
"Eye Patch."
"'Fueguchi. Aaaand...well well I don't believe we've met little 'Rabbit'.
The Eye Patch ghoul, a smaller ghoul who could only be Fueguchi, and another ghoul with pink hair and a bunny mask stood face to face with the Doves who'd come to murder them.
