Chapter 14

Saturday

Zayn's POV:

Today's the day, the day I'm going to be seen out in public with Selena for the first time, kill me now.

Even though the day barely started, Zayn already couldn't wait for it to be over, he just wanted to get everything over with. After he had gotten ready for the day at the beach, he drove straight to Selena's house and waited while sitting in his car for her to get out of her house. Zayn had only been waiting for a few minutes yet he was already growing impatient he was about to drive off to Simon's office to just call everything off, some way, some how until he saw Selena's door open revealing her wearing a low rise jeans shorts and white crop top.

"Well damn I thought you'd come knock on my door and escort me to your car" Selena said as she reached Zayn's car

"Why should I?"

Selena opened her mouth to say something but she closed it and unlocked the car door then got in

"Did you already forget what Simon told you yesterday?" Selena asked

"About?"

"Making this PR believable by showing me respect"

"What makes you think I care about that?" "I don't even want to be here right now"

"You know what, forget what I said and start the car"

Zayn didn't even bother to respond, instead he just put the key in the ignition starting up the car to drive to the beach. When they arrived at the beach, Zayn kept his hands on the steering wheel looking at all of the other people occupying the beach, his eyes stopped on a couple with a young child who he'd assume is their son. He sat in his car seat envisioning it was his and Lauren's with their child but unfortunately his thoughts broke when he heard Selena yelling his name.

"Zayn!"

"Zayn!"

"Oh my god!" "What!?" Zayn exclaimed in annoyance

"Damn you don't have to be so rude, I was just trying to get your attention because I noticed you were just sitting there spacing out"

"Whatever, let's just get this shit over with" Zayn said hurriedly unlocking his side of the door then aggressively slammed it when he got out of his car. Selena sat in the car frowning for a few seconds then quickly changed her facial expression to hide her sadness also exiting Zayn's car.

Lauren's POV:

The first thing Lauren did when she got home, was go on Twitter to take her mind off of school for a bit. Her heart shattered when she saw pictures of Zayn and Selena together at the beach, all over her timeline. Although she was aware that all of this was just a publicity stunt, she couldn't help but be disheartened.
