Chapter 17: Sports Festival Arc (Part 4)

"You hanging on, Midoriya?"

Midoriya:"Yeah! Thanks for the lift!"

"Hey! It's what best friends are for."

I said with a smirk as I dropped him off the middle of the mine field. Using inspiration from Katsuki's explosions, Izuku develops a plan to take first place after reaching the Mine Field. He digs up the mines using the shard of metal he picked up earlier and piles them up. I on the other hand was helping him dug up mines from different distances.

Midoriya:"F/n! It's ready!"

"Alright!"

I shouted as I got my metal plank ready. As Shoto and Katsuki almost passed us, by protecting ourselves with the metal, we both jumped on the mines and the explosion propels us ahead of Katsuki and Shoto.

We both gained the lead for a moment, but Katsuki and Shoto quickly catch up as Izuku starts to lose momentum. However, before he lands, Izuku places himself on both of their backs while I was behind him and detonate the mines in front of them using the metal shard.

With this, Izuku propelled himself ahead for small meters as he lost all of his momentum instanteously. I thought of what I could to get him to first place. I grabbed the back of Izuku's shirt and lifted him up over my shoulder.

"BRACE!"

Midoriya:"W-wait F/n!!"

I ignored him as I threw the bastard at the finish line making him first and the next to enter was me. Izuku tears up after looking into the stands and seeing All Might with a proud grin on his face. The latter comments on how he had nothing to worry about because Izuku just showed he's a fighter who's selflessness doesn't hold him back. Then he overhears students in the business course talking about how difficult Izuku would be to market because he hasn't shown off his Quirk. Some just said that he was able to enter first because I helped him have a boost.

"Whew, nice work Midoriya!"

Izuku:"Don't say that! You helped me a couple of times, right?"

Mom:"I'm proud of you son, you chose to help than reach for the first place for yourself."

"Eh, it's fine, but you do owe me a can of soda."

Izuku:"Sure!"

Soon, the 3rd and 4th Placers  entered. I looked to see Shoto with that same intense look on his face while Bakugo had a murderous intent.

"Welp, Shit."

After announcing the standings, Midnight moves the Festival on to the second event: The Cavalry Battle. The top forty-two qualifiers form teams from two to four people in order to earn points by stealing headbands from other teams. A team's point value is based on the value of it's individual members. The members of the team receive point value based on their placement in the obstacle race.

Izuku and, who is first place then secon, is worth ten million points as I earned one million points which makes us a target for the other contestant as they realize all is needed is to take both of us down. 

Izuku and Me:"We're doomed.."
