Ava in MM

5 years later

I bopped to the music playing on the club's stereo as my glass of Pineapple Ciroc touched my lips. The Palace was live tonight and a fake I.D got me, Shayla, and Peach in with an ease.

Shayla and Peach were moving to the music, a little tipsy and I was simply moving my head up and down. But once they played my song, "Freak Hoe" by Speaker Knockerz, I started bouncing my ass to the music.

Next thing I know, a tall chocolate brown skin nigga was grinding behind me. He was sexy so I let him. He held my waist closely, as I twerked on his crotch.

"Damn, baby, whats your name?" He screamed over the music.

"Ava," I yelled back.

"Lemme buy you a drink," He insisted. I shrugged, following him to the bar.

"What you drinking, shorty?" He smiled at me and his teeth was shining white.

"Pineapple Ciroc, please."

"Aye, bartender, lemme get a glass of Pineapple Ciroc and a shot of Hennessy."

Once we got our drinks, he handed me mine.

"Thanks," I said, taking a sip. "I didn't get ya name though."

"Chase," He said, downing his shot. "But you could call me big papa."

I chuckled. "Slow ya roll, homie."

"I'm just joking, ma. But wassup? You tryna go home with me?"

I looked at Shayla and Peach who were drunk as hell, dancing on each other. I didn't wanna go home with Chase. I mean I just met the dude. I was wishing that Shayla and Peach wasn't so drunk so that they could get me outta this.

"Uh, I don't wanna leave my girls. They're kinda drunk over there," I said, as an excuse.

"Come on, baby, they're fine," He smiled, lightly taking my hand. "Come with me...please?"

He gave me puppy eyes. I hated how nice I was. I could never say no.

"Alright, I gotta go pee, first," I lied, grabbing my clutch. "I'll be right back."

"Iight, baby, come right back," He gently demanded. I nodded disappearing to the bathroom. I texted Shayla in the bathroom, trying to tell her to meet me outside but I forgot that I had both her and Peach's phone in my clutch.

"Shit," I hissed under my breath. I walked back out the bathroom, bumping into someone.

"Excuse me-"

"Ava?"

I looked up at the person and saw Elijah. My heart raced just like it had when I was 13. I hadn't seen Elijah since he went off to college and I hadn't spoken to him since the night of the party.

He had the same face he did when he was 16 except now he had a light beard, which only made him look more appealing and older. He wore simple dark jeans, a red True Religion t-shirt, black and red Js and a black and red Snapback that matched his Js.

I would be lying if I said he didn't look good because he did. And all my feelings I had for him when I was younger came right back.

"Hi, Elijah," I said, suddenly shy.

"What are you doing here?" He asked.

"Just having fun. You?"

"Its one of my friend's birthday...wait aren't you 18?" He questioned. I sighed. Not this shit again.

"Yes but-"

"Then how did you get in?"

"I had a-"

"You know what? Nah, I'm taking you home," He insisted, taking my hand.

"Wait, wait, hold up," I said, snatching my arm back. "I am not a little girl anymore. You cannot do that to me no more."

"Ava, you're still underaged to be up in a club. And I know you been drinking. I smell it on your breath," He shook his head.

"I haven't even seen you in three years. What makes you think you could just come back and drag me outta this club," I remarked, folding my arms.

"Because you still Jay's sister and I'm not letting you do this," He looked serious.

"You can't-"

Before I could finish, he was already dragging me out the club. He brought me to his car and pushed me inside. Then he got in the driver's seat and sped off.

"When you gonna learn, Ava?" He asked, driving up to a red light. "I can't keep rescuing you like this."

"Nobody asked you to!" I snapped, throwing my hands up in frustration. "This is not the same 13 year old girl you forced out of Justice's party 5 years ago. I matured and I have more sense."

"Matured, huh?" He chuckled. "I guess mature people sneak into a club underaged and drink with their friends, right? You thought I didn't see Shayla and Peach all drunk on the dance floor. You so mature, I guess you already planned out how you was gonna bring their drunk asses home, right?"

I looked out the window, sucking my teeth. I hadn't planned that out but I wasn't going to tell him that.

"Where are we going?" I asked, as he passed my house.

"I'm taking you to Justice's crib," He stated.

"Wait, what? No! Take me home!" I ordered, scared of what my brother might say when he saw me. Crazy as it sounds, Justice scared me more than my parents did. Even though he moved out a couple years ago, he always knew when I was in trouble and dragged me out with scolds and loud lectures. But he never told our parents.

"Look, I already texted him and he told me to bring you there," Elijah stated, fixing his Snapback. I sucked my teeth, slamming back against the passenger seat.

"When did you get back in town anyway?" I asked, still holding my attitude.

"A couple weeks ago. I graduated and now I got my own place out here in my hometown."

"Big whoop," I remarked, sarcastically, unenthused.

He shook his head. "What ever happened to the nice Ava that I knew? Ever since...forget it."

"What?" I pushed. "The party? Yeah, she died that night."

He looked at me in shock but he didn't say anything else. He pulled up to Justice's condo and we got out.

"Eli! Wassup, bro?" Justice dapped Elijah and they shared a quick hug. "Long time no see, college boy."

"Aha, well you know my school be buggin with these finals and shit. Lucky I'm done now though."

"Congrats, man, I'm proud of you, E, forreal."

"Thanks," Elijah said looking over at me. "I brought you a delivery."

Justice looked at me and then at my dress. "Ava, what the fuck were you doing at the club so late? In that skanky dress, too?"

"Its not skanky," I tried to defend myself, pulling my dress down.

"Aye whatever. You lucky Eli was there to get you," Justice shook his head at me. "Get in here. We talking about this shit in the morning."

I rolled my eyes, walking past him and Elijah and going in the guest room. I was use to this.

Whenever it was too late to go home, I'd stay here with Justice, after his lecture about staying out late of course.

I heard Justice and Elijah talking in the living room but I couldn't hear it clearly so I gave up and changed into a long t-shirt and fell fast asleep.
