I was running late for work, for the third time this week. It's not my fault though, it was my dog's, Otto. He had me chasing him around my apartment because he tried to eat my car keys, again. So now I'm rushing down the highway to get to work. My dashboard read 7:50, I have exactly 10 minutes to get into work. I finally reach my hospital's parking lot and hurry inside to clock-in. As I'm running inside the building, I bump into some guy and he ends up spilling his coffee all over himself. "Oh my god I'm so sorry!" I say as I try and help clean up the mess. "Hey don't worry about it." He says and smiles. I just stare, stare at his perfect features. His messy but not to messy dark brown hair that's parted just enough to the right, his beautiful blue-gray eyes that sparkle just a little bit, and his perfect teeth and smile. I just smile at him while he's saying something that I don't catch on to. "Kris!" I turn around and see my doctor yelling my name. "You're about to be late if you don't clock-in, now." he says. "My apologies," I look at the man, "nice meeting you." I say and run off. In the back I hear him yell, "You too." which puts a ridiculous grin on my face.

As I'm signing in I still have the smile on my face from earlier, and I guess my co-worker, Amy, notices. "What are you so happy about?" she teases. I shrug, I honestly didn't know why I was so happy. It was just a bump and run I guess you could say. I mean he did say something, I wish I would of heard instead of zoning out. The hospital's receptionist then comes in, "I know why." she mentions and smiles. I start doing my paperwork, "What are you talking about?" I laugh. "Oh please Kris, I saw you talking to Logan W. in the lobby. Your eyes lit up faster than a Christmas tree." she says with a laugh. Amy's eyes go wide, "You were talking to the hottest patient in the entire Florida State Hospital?!" I just shrug and start writing in my paperwork, "I honestly don't know who he is, we just met when I bumped into him and he spilled his coffee all over his suit." Amy starts clapping, "You touched and talked to him and your saying it like it's no big deal?!" I can tell she's excited. "Anyways," I say, "I have to go give this to Doctor Bryce, but I'll see you girls later." They say bye, "She better hop on that or I will." I hear Michelle say.

I get into the elevator and push the 5 button, as the doors start to close I see a male hand with a silver name-brand watch open them back up. It was Logan. He steps in and doesn't seem to notice that I'm there. "Oh, same floor" he says with a smile. I just smile back and look anywhere but him. "Aren't you the one that spilled coffee all over me, about 15 minutes ago?" he asks with a grin. I just nod and try to keep my eyes everywhere else, but I'm struggling. I hear him laugh, "So what's your name?" I finally look at him and say "Kris." He smiles and puts his hand out, "I'm Logan. Nice to meet you, again." I shake his hand and say, "You too." The elevator door opens and he gestures for me to go. I start walking to the desk on this floor and hand the receptionist, Tina, the folder. "This goes to Doctor Bryce." I say and smile. She just nods and points to room 519 and says, "There's a little girl in there that needs a tube of blood taken." I nod and knock before walking into the room,I read off her sheet, "Stacy?" I ask. The girl sits up, she looks around 8 years old, and it just so happens he's sitting right next to her. I'm shocked but manage to continue talking, "How are you honey?" I ask as I sanitize my hands and start to put on gloves. "I'm fine." she says with a smile. I nod and smile as well. "Well I'm Kris and I'm just gonna use your little friend here," I point to an IV in her hand, "to take a tube or two of blood alright? It won't hurt I promise." I say with a smile. She smiles and nods at me. I love to work with kids, but unfortunately they're always sick, considering I do work at a hospital. Logan starts to speak, "We just keep seeing each other don't we?" I finish taking the blood and start to fill out the mandatory paperwork after doing so, "I guess we do." I shoot him a quick smile and clean up. "I'll be back with the doctor shortly." I leave the room and sigh. Tina must of heard and looks up from her computer, "What's wrong dear?" she's older than me and tends to treat me as a co-worker as well as a daughter or close friend. "Don't worry about it, where's Doctor Tom." She points to the copying machine, I nod and start to walk over. "I have the blood for patient Stacy Jones." I say as I hand him the tubes and papers. He nods. "Thank you Kristine, go check and see if she's doing alright please. You'll be her nurse for the next two weeks." He says and walks off. I guess I'm on Jones duty which meant I'll be seeing Logan a whole lot. Who knows, maybe I'll get a benefit from this.
