I wonder why I'm here. thought darel as he walked into the woods.

"You are going to learn something important that you will need in mortal combat." said zardoc as if he just read Darel's mind. "okay we are here."

The place they were at was a clearing. it was as big as the keep itself. "welcome, darel to the place where magicks is at its most."

Darel turned, there stood Redrock. "whats going on?"

"you are here to be taught magicks and alchemy from me and zardoc."

"i thought my family wasn't born with magick in their blood??"

"alas that is where your wrong. long ago a man known as Uliac was born two thousand years ago. he was the creator of magick. u darel. are the last and direct descendant of him."

"wait a minute! if he was my ancestor then how come my parents haven't done magicks before.." darel asked curiously.

" alas we only have theories darel," zardoc cut in," what we believe is that your family married ordinary people whom had no control over magicks over a long period in time. after many generations there was a man born as Fowlwing. but had no magicks."

"how am i? a boy with no magical skills learn magick?"

" there is a sword darel. a sword known as the sword of uliac. forged by firearms ancestor and uliac. it is said that whomever bears it they will have a stronger amount of energy for magick," said redrock," but we shall teach u magicks even if we fail you would at least have the strength to block an attack with ur mind."

"is there anything else i should know?"

"yes in particular. first of all the energy of magicks is like based on the science of alchemy. there is a way to amplify the the power of your magick but the limited amount of energy u have shall be drained," said zardoc.

     "okay"

"lets say i have a rock and try to lift it with my mind. i would lose energy right?"

    "yes"

"but if i have a rock or someone with me, my powers would amplify to a strength to lift a boulder."

"if that was true wouldn't we be invincible?"

"no," redrock cut in," only certain people and certain rocks like gold or diamond would work. the certain group known as the Elsip De Gar , can amplify other spell caster's strength. their skills are very rare."

"so if i had the strength to break bones with...."

"no. you cannot kill with magicks. you can only cause it. i cant just say die and the person dies. i could say 'let the ground split underneath him' then he would fall in the hole and die."

"also," zardoc said," the amount of energy to dig a hole would apply if not for the fact you had gold or someone from the Elsip De Gar was with you."

"any ways ," redrock said," alchemy shall also play an important role in this. there are four elements known as fire, water, earth, wind. when mix them you can create anything known. in alchemy it leads to creating rocks ashes smoke and so on. but in magic that is not so. you use a certain word or phrase. you say a word and all you will need is the thought and imagination of what you do. alchemy controls the magick. think of and saying the word fire and water at the same time it makes smoke. water and earth soil. wind and water. a disastrous form of wind. there is no language except there are only four words in magic that we can truly interpret and control. fire, water, earth, wind."

"so all i need to do is think and say a word? thats not so hard."

"indeed it isn't," said zardoc,"keeping the spell going and getting the spell to work is the hard part. try thinking of a word to give you an idea. but now thanks to Uliac there is a language."

    "like what?"

"he based it on the english language but changed it to make more sense," said Zardoc," the original was fire is Envis. water is Sesair. earth is dirtar. wind is flirind. so here is where alchemy comes in. by knowing what happens when you mix them it allows you to mix the words to make the effect. u split the words by syllables. the first word is always the one that starts first in the alphabet. so you want to mix fire and water? Envis and Sesair? Also always take the first syllable. when u mix. so envis and sesair =Enses or in other words smoke."

    "okay," said darel,"makes sense.

"that was the first part of magic," said redrock," that one creates not makes. to make you say the phrase as in. 'let me free!' but change the letters. so now it is 'tel meem eref' so. first you move the letters in the first word backwards. say the second word the right way then backwards in one word and next word u move the third letter to the front and the first to last. an entire sentence goes this way. so there is no language. now you try."

"okay how about. tfil thissiht cokr?"

" correct! now repeat it and think of it."

       "tfil thissiht cokr?"

not a single rock flew up.

"no! you have to say it like you mean it!" said redrock," watch me. tfil thissiht cokr!"

a rock flew stright up into the air.

        "now you try it again."

          "tfil thissiht cokr!"

this time the rock flew up almost imeaditley. but it fell back to the ground almost at the same time as it flew up.

"good. now practice this over a course of a few days and come back to us and we will teach you more. also we have a book for you," said redrock as she took out a book.

            "this old book?"

"yes this is the only copy left. it tells of all that can be made from magicks and alchemy. also it tells you what can be done with them."

         "okay makes sense."

"now go we have other important business to take care of," said redrock,"also the arrow you gave me. its enchanted by magic."

          "what?"

           "its magical."

"then you really do have a chance now."

******the word magicks is not a mistake.
