Lexi's POV

I'd pay anything, just to see Malfoy's reaction one more time. To say he was surprised was an understatement. When he saw Harry, Ron and I looking top notch, he was almost exploding. Well, I guess last night's meeting kept me awake throughout the whole day.

Harry also brought up another topic. Apparently, when he was in Gringotts, he saw Hagrid take a small package from a vault.

"It's either really valuable or really dangerous," Ron said.

"Or both," I added. But all we knew about this mystery package is that it's small, something you could carry in your hand without someone catching a glimpse of it.

Hermione didn't care about what the dog was guarding. She barely even talked to us. She would occasionally talk to me to warn me not to go back. Harry and Ron found her ignorance a plus, since she had a bit of a bossy attitude. It was a bit sad though. Hermione was the only girl in Hogwarts that I had actually befriended. The rest of them were just too...girly. So I'd always be around the boys, Harry and Ron in particular.

I saw an owl drop a package in front of Draco, as his face shined with glee, catching the parcel.

I haven't gotten a letter since the last one I sent, which was a while ago. It was like they forgot about the letters.

I was surprised when I saw Jessie fly in. I thought it was a letter, but what I saw didn't look like a letter. Jessie dropped the package in front of me, and I stuck my hands out to catch it. Hedwig came along right after Jessie, carrying a package with the same shape for Harry. It wasn't from my family, that was for sure. Enclosed with the parcel was a note,

DO NOT OPEN THE PARCEL IN FRONT OF EVERYBODY

Inside is your Nimbus 2000. Don't open it in public otherwise everyone will want broomsticks. Oliver Wood will meet you at the Field at 7:00 tonight for your first training session.

Professor McGonagall.

McGonagall was sitting at the teachers' table, watching us. I gave her a grateful nod as I beckoned Ron and Harry to come with me back to the common room so Harry and I could open our brooms.

Malfoy and his minions stopped us before we could get very far. He stuck out his hand and snatched Harry's broom from him.

"It's a broomstick!" He said, surprise and envy in his voice. Mr Flitwick was walking towards us, heading to the Hall.

"Not fighting I hope, boys...and girl," Mt Flitwick said as he walked past.

"They've got broomsticks, Professor!" Malfoy complained, smirking at us, think we'd get in trouble.

"Yes, that's right! The special circumstances Professor McGonagall informed me about. What models are they?" Flitwick asked.

"Nimbus 2000's, sir!" I replied proudly. Draco stood with disbelief covering his face, shocked that we didn't get in trouble. I snatched Harry's broomstick back out of Malfoy's hand and Harry, Ron and I sped down the hallway, towards the Common Room and away from Draco.

Once inside, we sat on the couch and started unwrapping our broomsticks.

Harry and I ran towards the grounds where training was eagerly, once it was 7:00. I really wanted to ride my broom.

"Where's Oliver?" I groaned, when we arrived at the grounds and Oliver was a no-show.

"I dunno," Harry shrugged, looking for Oliver too. I shrugged my shoulders and climbed onto my broomstick. I could see Harry do the same and we lifted off the ground, scanning for any sign of Oliver.

"Potter! Black! Come down here!" I heard a voice call out. I looked down to see Oliver Wood carting a heavy crate, beckoning us to come back down. I leaned forward, slowly lowering myself closer to the ground. I dismounted by broomstick as Oliver was opening the crate.

"McGonagall was right. You two are naturals," Oliver smiled as I beamed. "I'm going to teach you two the basic rules and you'll join the team for team practices three times a week."

He tossed the lid of the crate back.

He chose one ball, taking it out and showing it to Harry and I, "This, is a Quaffle. It's thrown around by Chasers, which is you," Oliver nodded to me,"And they have to get it to the opponents goal post and score. The Keeper, which is me, blocks them. With me so far?" I nodded quickly as my eyes trailed towards two balls that were trying to escape their spots.

"What are those?" Harry asked, noticing what I was looking at. Oliver looked at the balls Harry was pointing at, looked a bit hesitant, before getting out two bats for Harry and I.

"You better hold these," He said, making sure we were ready and holding the bats. He bent down, undid the belt on one, and the ball flew upward soaring in the air, before coming back down towards us at a racing speed. I guessed this was what the bat was for, so I swung the bat and hit the ball with full force.

"Not bad. You'd make a fair Beater, Black," Oliver commented. The ball started to lose height, coming back down hard. "Uh, Oh," Oliver muttered, motioning for Harry and I to move back. Oliver caught it, and wrestled it back into the crate, doing the belt back up.

"What was that?" I asked, a bit exasperated.

"Bludgers, nasty little buggers they are. But I need you to concentrate on the Quaffle, and Harry, you need to focus on this. Oliver reached into a small pocket on the underside of the lid and pulled out a small, gold ball. He gave to Harry so he could have a better look at it.

"This is the Snitch. I need you, Harry, to try and find this during the game, before the other Seeker find it. Whichever team catches it, earns 150 points, and ends the game." Harry stared at the Snitch for a while, before Oliver started talking again. "I think you'll do amazing, Potter. You too, Black."

Boy, was I going to like Quidditch.
