Mal Owens is now nineteen and coming to the realization that her life can never go back to how it used to be. She will always be an Avenger, there will always be battles to fight and she will never be normal. After having no luck with discovering the whereabouts of Bucky Barnes, Mal decides that the best thing she can do is help stop HYDRA once and for all, so that they can never do what they did to her or Bucky ever again.
After taking down another HYDRA base and recapturing Loki's scepter, Mal discovers that she wasn't the last experiment HYDRA left behind. Two siblings were changed, one given incredible speed, and the other gifted with abilities eerily similar to Mal's. Combined with one of Tony's robots becoming sentient, escaping and going on a mission to destroy the world and the Avengers have their hands full.
Wanda Maximoff is a reminder to Mal that the past can turn you into someone that you're not. Mal decides that she wants to help Wanda and her brother Pietro, and maybe, she can get through to the pained siblings - before it's too late for any of them.
