It became quickly obvious that Ayumi was avoiding Naomi. Just the other day the two girls had been hanging out together, but then it happened. They kissed. While neither wanted to admit it they both enjoyed it. However Ayumi wasn't ready to face Naomi again after that. She wasn't sure what had caused them to kiss like they did, but it had to mean Naomi liked her right?
"Ayumi...can I talk to you?" Ayumi jumped slightly, but relaxed when she saw it was just Naomi.
"Of course, what is it Naomi" Ayumi avoided her gaze.
"About the other day, I'm not sure what came over me, but I won't deny my feelings anymore, I love you Ayumi" Naomi felt her face heat up at her confession.
"I...I love you too Naomi" Ayumi finally was able to look Naomi in the face for the first time that day. The two shared another kiss, relieved to know the how they felt for each other. The events of Heavenly host had brought them together, they shared experiences no one else had. As long as they had each other, they didn't need anyone else.
Over the next few days the two them spent every moment they could together, school was coming to an end and they weren't sure if they would be put in the same class next year. No one knew about their relationship, they didn't want anyone to find out. It was best to keep it between the two of them. It was the last day of the school year and they wanted to do something special to celebrate the end of school. Naomi had planned everything. She was going take Ayumi to dinner, and they would watch the sun set together. It wasn't much but at leas they would be together.
That night the two sat together and ate talking about all kinds of things.
"Satoshi was always such a clutz, I don't know how he made it to high school" Naomi laughed.
"Him and Kishinuma both, honestly you'd think they'd be a little more mature for their age" Ayumi sighed thinking about her blonde classmate.
"Well, I guess it doesn't really matter now does it" Naomi looked down at her food and sighed.
"I guess not, hey let's not think about these things, let's just have a good night okay?" Ayumi smiled holding onto Naomi's hand.
"Yeah, let's make tonight the best night ever!" Naomi returned her smile.
"That's the spirt" Ayumi giggled. Tonight had been so much fun for the both of them and she never wanted it to end.
"You know, before all of this, I didn't like you very much, now look at us" Naomi had never pictured this happening in a million years.
"Yeah, I despised you, but know I can't ever imagine hating you" Ayumi admitted, she had always thought Satoshi was the one she liked, but it was really Naomi. The two finished eating and Naomi took Ayumi to the hillside her and Seiko used to hang out at. It was the best place to view the sunrise and the sunset. It over looked a few houses and it full of colors. The two sat and chatted for awhile before the sun began setting. Color washed over everything creating a stunning view of the small town.
"Wow, this is amazing Naomi" Ayumi looked around at all the colors.
"Seiko and I would come here all the time to watch the sunset, I'd like to carry on that tradition with you Ayumi" Naomi leaned against her.
"I would love that" Ayumi smiled resting her head atop Naomi's. The two watched as the sun disappeared leaving everything in darkness. The two shared one last kiss before they began their summer...
