Bella Newman was everything a guy could ask for. She was pretty, hot and straight, which according to my friend George was the Holy Trinity of Staright Boys. Since she followed that standard pattern, I didn't really payed attention to her my first day in Hessfield High School, although her legs were remarkably gorgeous. I had that thing, the same way George looked at a guy's butt looking for a Levi's tag. If you had one, beware, he was the one to be scared of. Also, as every single hot girl I met (and believe me, there were more than you would expect from a 18-year-old virgin guy) she didn't awoke the "sexy feeling", as George called it. So yeah, my first impression of Bella Newman was a standard hot girl, with pretty legs that didn't turn me on. How mistaken I was.
Hessfield High School could only be described with two words: it sucked. It was great at the same time, because installations and location and good teachers and ya da ya da ya da. The typical things someone would put on a community or state college leaflet. The thing that made it sucked was this: small town high school. For those who don't know the torture of going to a small town high school, don't worry, Uncle Gabe is here to enlighten you.
You see, you can have very few people in a small town high school (duh) and there is where the danger begins. Rumors spread easier, there are a lot of people who know your parents, there is a 80% chance that you will find a second cousin of yours and there is a higher chance of bumping into the people that you hate at Walmart or similar. That and the lack of swimming pool. Fuck the good installations, I demanded a swimming pool.
The surprising thing is that I went voluntarily to Hessfield. It was either living in a marvelous city with a shitty family or living in a shitty town with a marvelous family. Well, fuck me, I had to choose. And honestly, dad had always been a better parent figure to me. And also Meli, dad's fiancée was better godparent than Mr. Could-You-Please-Call-Me-Dad. So when I finally turned eighteen, ready to start my senior year, I told my mother that as a birthday present I wanted to go to live with dad. And she made damn sure that didn't happened, she even threw a tantrum, yelling about I couldn't just go and live with dad. But I told dad and dad told the divorce lawyer and the divorce lawyer told mom that I was legally an adult, therefore, to choose with whom I live, therefore (he used that word a lot), I actually could just go and live with dad. Sucks to suck mom.
Anyway, Bella Newman seemed to be in three of my seven daily horse of high school, one of them being Calculus AP. The other one was Creative writting, first and last hour respectively. Honestly, who puts Calculus AP first hour in the morning? But this was the important: Bella Newman was smart as fuck, apart for being hot, single and straight. And THAT was the thing that made me look at her.
