Emily and Lee woke up, last night they decided to find a safe haven. They have awoken in a world of the living dead.

Emily opens her closet door, grabbing the fire poker and leads the way. Lee came out the closet behind her, keeping a hand on her hip. They were sneaking around. Emily looked out her windows carefully and saw bodies laid out in the street, and cars flipped and houses broken into. Lee took a turn looking, his house was on fire. The chaos was still going on.

Emily and Lee went out of her bedroom and into the livingroom. They went out her window that was busted open by Lisa, the previous day. Lisa's dead corps was still there, smelling worse than before.

In Emily's backyard she had a pool, she had emptied her pool because she didn't want it to become ice and damage the cover. Lee looked into her pool and paniced.

"Em!" he shouted in a hushed tone.

Emily looked over at Lee who was pointing down at her pool. Emily got closer to take a look and was swung at by a hand. She let out a small gasp as she fell backwards and Lee held onto her arm. Emily's pool was infested with zombies. She didn't have a stair design, only a broken ladder and a diving bored. Emily gigged. Lee looked at her creeped out.

"What's so funny?" He hesitated to ask.

"Their trapped.. maybe we can make a trap out of this?" Emily suggested going back into her house and going towards the garage, grabbing a can of gasoline and comes back outside. She hades it to Lee and he started pouring it evenly across the zombies, who were making lots of noise and hyped up. Emily went back in the house and headed towards the furnace when a zombie suddenly fell out from inside. It was dirtied with charcoal and blood. Emily jumped in surprise and stood her ground. Immediately she knew she could kill it while it's down. She lunged the poker into its brain, while closing her eyes in fear. She heard a wet crack, just like from Lisa before. Emily opened her eyes and stared down at the corps, who wasn't moving or anything. She confirmed, hitting the head is the way to go.

Emily grabbed the lighter off the top of the furnace, going back outside to Lee.

"What happened in there? I heard a thud." Lee asked checking over Emily's body for any wounds.

"I'm fine, one fell through the fireplace and I got it easy." Emily said, blushing.

She took the lighter and flicked it on, the flame was a beautiful blue and red. She slung it at the pool, letting in land on the zombies as they burst into a huge flame. Lee pulled Emily back towards him, holding her in his arms.

"We got them!" he exclaimed happily.

Emily giggled, she didn't know if Lee thought these were all of the or not. She knew this was only the begining.

After the fire simmered down, and the zombies were roasted, it started getting darker. Lee and Emily took his car, and drove out their neighborhood and into the town. The first store they came upon was a Publix. There were cars places around the entrance as a wall, and dead bodies laying behind them. Lee slowly drove into the parking lot.

"Want to try our luck here? Maybe there's survivors inside." he asked Emily, wide-eyed with hope.

Emily hesitated to answer, but nodded her head.

Emily got out the car and Lee turned off the engine, walking towards the buildings front doors, both shivering slightly in fear of rejection or worse.

The door opened and a ding appeared. A tall female figure came walking towards them. She appeared to be pregnant. When the woman came into view they noticed she wasn't alive. Emily held her stance, with the fire poker tight in her palms she lunged at the woman, stabbing it through her neck into the skull from below. Lee cringed at the loud wet insertion sound. Emily removed her poker and the body slammed to the floor. Lee looked at her pregnant belly and knew she was about 9 months. Lee went into the back of the store, grabbing a kitchen knife set and opens it. He took the sharpest knife he could find and cut open her lower belly carefully. He pulled out a tiny baby, in our surprise it was still human looking. Lee quickly performed CPR on the new born. After several heart breaking attempts the baby started coughing and breathing. It didn't cry loudly but very softly. Lee checked its eyes and mouth and nose.
