Matt's POV

Was Josh serious? He knows what my family is like. They've never liked Josh, not even when we were in high school. Now we're engaged and they don't even know. "We'll go right now." Josh picked me up off the deep freeze and carried me to the front door. "Josh, are you sure?" I sniffled and rubbed my eyes. He kissed my forehead and slipped on his shoes.

"One hundred percent sure." he smiled and laced his fingers between mine. I sighed and looked down. What if they react badly? My dad gets violent easily. All these thoughts ran threw my head and I looked up at Josh. We had to. Josh wanted to do this. For me. For us. Josh squeezed my hands and smiled at me.

"Everything will be okay. Your family needs to know that no matter what they say or do, they aren't going to effect us. Okay?" He leaned down and kissed me softly. I nodded and smiled back at him. "I love you, Josh." he smiled back and pulled me closer. "I love you too, Matt."

When we finally got out of Josh's apartment we made our way downstairs to his silver BMW. I got into the passenger seat and pushed my hair back. Jesus Christ, what were we doing? The drive seemed so short that when we pulled into my parents driveway, my eyes instantly started watering. "Josh, I can't do this." I choked on a sob and held my head in my hands. Josh rubbed my back and sighed. " We'll both go. Okay? Come on, babe." He smiled softly and unlocked the car. I looked up at my parents house. They were already gawking out the window, my dad glaring directly at me. I sighed shakingly and got out of Josh's car, my engagement ring feeling like a 50 pound weight. Josh wrapped his arm around my waist and I looked at him, wide eyed.

"What are you doing?" I whispered. He just grinned as my parents walked outside. "Proving a point." he whispered back. "Afternoon, Mr. And Mrs. Webb." Josh smiled widely and held me closer. My parents just glared at Josh. "Matthew, what is he doing here?!" my dad turned and yelled at me."Just wanted to talk, s'all." Josh said, his tongue piercing adding emphasise to the 'S'. Josh's hand rested on my hip and I moved my hand so it was on top of his.

"About what?" my mom glared at me, obviously wishing Josh wasn't here. "Well, us. We both don't care that you don't approve. We're happy and that shouldn't concern you if you're going to act this way." My dad stepped towards Josh as he finished and I stepped in front of him. "You lay a hand on him and I will never speak to you again." my dad just kind of looked at me. "You aren't being serious, are you, Matthew?" my mom asked.

"I'm being completely serious! I'm your son! You should be happy for me!" I pointed at myself and my mom's jaw dropped open as she spotted my engagement ring. Well, fuck. "Matthew Webb, what is THAT." she grabbed my hand and I yanked it away from her. "If you really care, then it's my engagement ring. Wedding's in June. And honestly, nothing you do or say will change our minds." I grinned and looked up at Josh. "I love him and nothing will ever change that." I grabbed Josh by his jaw and I kissed him. "Let's go, babe." I smiled and pecked his lips again. Josh nodded and walked back to the car. I stayed there, my parents gawking at me. Suddenly my dad lunged forward and punched me across the face. I stumbled back and fell backwards. I looked back at Josh. He stalked back over to my dad and grabbed him by the front of his shirt.

"You sick fuck. That is your son!" Josh pushed him to the ground, turned around and picked me up. "Are you okay?" he stroked my hair back and kissed my forehead. I nodded hastily and whimpered. "Let's get out of here, please..." Josh carried me back to the car, setting me down in the passenger seat. He quickly walked around to the drivers side and got in beside me. "I'm so sorry, Matt." he frowned and backed out of the driveway. My nose wouldn't stop bleeding and I could hardly breathe. I was starting to get lightheaded and I could see stars. "Josh..." I mumbled and gripped his arm.

"Matt, baby just breathe. You're okay, I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere." Josh sounded like he was near tears. I rubbed my thumb across the back of his hand. "Don't cry...I'm okay, Josh."

When we got home I instantly slumped down onto the couch. My head felt like it was missing and my nose was completely numb. Josh sat beside me and stroked my hair back. "I'm so sorry." he whispered and kissed my cheek. I leaned against him and sighed. "It's not your fault..." I looked up at Josh and smiled softly.

"I'm okay, Josh...don't worry." I kissed his cheek and he smiled weakly. "You sure?" Josh trailed his fingers across my cheek and I shivered slightly. "I'm sure." I stared up at Josh and grinned, not caring if my entire face hurt.

"How did I get so lucky?" I reached up and ran my hand through his hair. Josh's cheeks turned bright red and I couldn't help but laugh. He looked like a little porcelain doll and it was adorable. "What did I ever do to deserve you, Josh?" I grinned and stroked his cheek. "You deserve a lot better than me, Matt." he smiled weakly and laid his head on my shoulder. "Josh, you're perfect. Stop saying that."

Josh sighed and traced spirals across my stomach. "Can we go to bed? I'm tired." I kissed the top of his head and he got up off the couch. "Yea, we can. I'm exhausted." Josh pulled me close and smiled cutely. "How do you feel about being a Ramsay in 6 months?" I chuckled softly and wrapped my arms around his neck. "Where'd that come from?" he shrugged and swayed back and forth gently. "I dunno. I just wanna know. Joshua Webb just sounds too formal." he smiled and kissed my cheek.

I pouted and pulled myself closer. "And Matthew Ramsay doesn't?" I peeked up at him and smiled. Josh smirked and kissed slowly down my neck. What a fucking tease. "Joshua is a stupid name anyway." he whispered in my ear and rested his forehead against my temple. I pouted and twirled his hair around my finger. "I'm going to feel perfect when I become a Ramsay. Josh, your family is more of a family than I ever had..." I bit down on my lip, my eyes started to swell with tears. "You've made my life perfect and I don't know what I would do without the only person that makes me happy. Josh, I love you and I'll never stop. Ever." I pulled him close and hugged as tight as I could.

I choked on a sob and cried into his chest. He leant down and sung softly into my ear. "And I will hide you if it gets too much, I'll be right beside you. Nobody will break you....I love you, Matthew. You are perfect." I rubbed my eyes and looked up at Josh. Tears were streaming down his cheeks. I frowned and wiped them away gently. "Josh, don't cry... You've made my life perfect. You don't deserve to be sad." he sniffled and buried his face in my hair.

"Let's go to bed..." Josh lifted me up and I wrapped my legs around his hips. I frowned and laid my head on his shoulder. Everything felt so much more rigid. His collarbones stood out more and so did his jaw and cheek bones. How much weight had he lost? "Josh, baby how much weight did you lose on tour?" He blinked and looked at me, a little confused. "Um, I dunno, at least 40 pounds. I'm only 145." I blinked and looked at him.

"Baby..." I whimpered and stroked his hair back. He bit his lip and looked down. I sighed and tilted his head back up. "I just want you to be happy and healthy." Josh looked at me and whimpered. "I'm sorry... Matt, you have no idea how hard it is trying to be perfect. No fucking idea how hard it is to be the face of this band. I just don't know what to do anymore." Josh set me down slowly and made his way into the bedroom.

I frowned and followed him. Josh was already laying down in bed on his stomach, staring at the wall. I sighed and changed into a pair of sweats and t-shirt. As I laid down beside Josh, he didn't move at all. I pulled his arm closer to me and traced the tattoo that wrapped around his right arm. Suddenly Josh sat up and started unbuttoning his shirt. I rested my hand on his leg and kissed his cheek. "What're you doing, love?" Josh smiled softly and shimmied out of his jeans. He shrugged and flipped back to his stomach. "You seemed interested." I blinked and my eyes trailed down his back. Tiny tattoos were littered all over his body. I smiled and traced shapes across his back but frowned when I got to his shoulders. His shoulder blades stuck out and every single part of his spine was visible. I heard Josh chuckle and I pouted. "What?" I poked his side and he looked over at me. "If you wanted to stare at my ass, you could've just asked." I smiled and kissed down his back gently. "Josh, go to sleep."
