✦ HUFFLEPUFF'S. ▸▸ CHAEJIN
hufflepuff's common room is the epiphany of soft hours. the warm yellowish hue of light filing in from the circular windows complements the peace and serenity of the common room. the warm toned couches are plush, and draped with patterned throw blankets.
the walls are covered in succulents, while potted plants litter the edges of the room, some even hang from the ceiling. the fireplace is lit, warmthening the room from the cool autumn air that seeps in every time the entrance is opened.
when chaejin entered the common room after her morning classes she didn't expect to find changgu sitting at one of the tables, a tray of cookies and tea next to his stack of parchment papers. he was usually out, running around the halls with his close friend yanan. when changgu noticed he was no longer alone he looked up, smiling brightly.
he motioned towards the tray. "the house elves stopped me and asked if i wanted some sweets. didn't know they would give me so much," changgu paused to chuckle. "perks of living right next to the kitchen huh?"
"they do always look out for us." chaejin slowly approached the two seater table. changgu instantly yanked his book bag from the other chair, allowing chaejin to sit. out of habit with jaehyun, she scooted the chair closer to changgu. the closeness caused him to blush lightly. he tried not to move as much because each time he shifted their elbows would touch. "so what are you working on?"
"ah. it's herbology. i don't understand the purpose of these plants we're supposed to look up. i tried asking others for help but they were all busy with their own homework so i'm stuck struggling."
"well how convenient. herbology is my best subject! i have to meet jaehyun in a few so why don't you come join us for a homework session? we can both help you." chaejin noticed changgu's smile falter. he fumbled with the corners of his papers, looking everywhere but at chaejin.
"slytherin jaehyun? the handsomest kid in hogwarts? everyone's first love? that jaehyun?"
"uh," chaejin furrowed her brows. "yes? changgu is everything okay?" as she reached out to hold his wrist he shied away. "how come every time i bring up jae you get all weird. are you afraid of him?"
"oh my gosh! cookies! changgu you shouldn't have!" someone shouted from just beyond the entrance. changgu let out a breath of relief. he really didn't feel up to answering her question, which was undoubtedly true.
changgu knows jaehyun hates him. beyond his handsome, loveable face and charming personality there's evil that lies deep within him that no one seemed to notice besides changgu. the way he would glare at changgu in the halls and classes sent shivers down his spine every single time.
