Bailey Alexandra Newman was moving from her hometown in Concord, North Carolina to New Orleans, Louisiana. She was only sixteen and already moving away from her home. Being a teen, the move was much more stressful than normal. But that was two months ago, now Bailey has gotten a hang of things in her new home.

New Orleans is so much different from Concord. I guess that's the point though. I thought it would be all Mardi Gras but it's literally just humidity and the constant threat of  hurricanes. Hurricane Katrina hit about five years ago, and we came literally two weeks ago. Hurricane Katrina was pretty damn strong, and the cities still recovering, but even with the tragedies the city has faced, everyone has high spirits and is extremely helpful.

The spot in the city where we bought our house has a lot of "history" according to the retailer. I don't know what he means by that, I guess it's old. Mom and Dad got some papers on what the house was built on, but who cares about that?!

I was able to make friends here! Selena Kintenia was some chick in. the new neighborhood I moved into. She was really sweet and showed me around the neighborhood. Which houses to avoid and which to go over for lunch some time.

Selena wasn't the only neighbor I met, there was one dude names Jacob that was pretty nice. And of course, the occasional bully, Will Henderson. But Selena said he's mean to everyone and to not worry, BUT I JUST MOVED SO OF COURSE I WAS GOING TO WORRY!

Bailey was lounging around her house in her pink-and-red striped pajama pants and a yellow tee with a blue kawaii whale when she heard something fall downstairs. Bailey's mom and dad however, had just left the house to stock up their new fridge, and her brother Dean was at the local skatepark.

With no one around, Bailey slowly and shakily got up. She reached for the baseball bat she always kept under her bed in case of an emergency, and descended down the steps.

And what she saw changed her way of thinking forever.
