As Sirena and Oceana swam, they talked about land.
"It must feel weird, walking in land with those-those things!"
"Legs," Sirena corrected Oceana.
"Whatever. Its more fishsticks than common sense," Oceana complained, using merfolk common language, fishsticks as meaning nonsense.
"Well I think it is brilliant," Sirena mumbled under her breath.
"Hm?"
"Oh, nothing!" Sirena corrected quickly wondering why she'd been so stupid to say that out loud. Mermaids have exellent hearing.
The friends swam until Oceana stopped abruptly.
"What?" Sirena asked.
"I-" Oceana was cut off when a conch shell came hurtling through the water and hit Oceana smack right on the back of her head. She only had time to whisper "swim." to Sirena before her eyes rolled into the back off her head and she passed out cold.
And boy did Sirena swim. She grabbed Oceana's arm and swam as fast as she could, not knowing where she was going.
Then, Sirena ran into someone. Garry. One of Oceana and Sirena's best friends. And behind him, Will. The four of them were the best friends anyone had ever seen. They were always with each other no matter what.
"Oh my gosh! Garry! Will! Where have you two been? I need help!" Sirena cried as she cluthched Oceana's arm while throwing her sobbing self onto Will. She wouldn't let go of his neck to matter how much Will complained.
"Don't worry, Sirena. She'll be alright in a few hours. Probably just a shell." Garry called to them as he examined Oceana's head and neck. When he got up, his silver tail swished side to side. He was calm.
"Now will you please. Get. Off. Me?" Will laughed.
"Oh uh yeah," Sirena had forgotton about Will.
"I'm gonna go take a swim." Sirena chocked.
"Need anyone to come with you?" Garry asked.
"N- Why?" Sirena asked, confused.
"Well your father wouldn't want you out alone after what happened to Oceana," Will cut in.
"Exactly," Garry agreed.
"Okay, fine. You both can come, but after we drop Oceana off at the infimary." Sirena gave in.
After dropping Oceana off at the infirmiry, the three set off. Gary seemed a little disapointed that Will was coming, but Sirena never really noticed.
Finally, Sirena saw what she was looking for, a cave hidden behind a forest of kelp.
After navigating through the kelp, the three entered the secret cave. Inside, the walls were decorated with pearls, seashells, and sea stars. On the very back cave wall, was a 'mirror'.
"Woah," Garry said in awe.
"Wow," Will agreed.
"Of course, all my doing. Even Oceana doesn't know about it." Sirena bragged while looking in the 'mirror'.
"Shut up," Will playfully shoved Sirena.
"Hey! It's true!" Sirena shoved him back. Will burst out laughing when Garry knocked Sirena's collection of human belongings over.
"Hey, that took me ten years to set up!" Sirena practically yelled while smiling. She too had burst out laughing.
"Why do you even keep this useless stuff anyways?" Will asked suspiciously.
"I- uh no reason. I just- uh think it's um intesting to uh laugh at." Sirena blushed madly, the red standing out from her usual paper white skin.
"Ok then. If you say so..." Will rolled his eyes.
"Hey, what's this?" Garry held up a clam. Only, this clam has gold patterns dancing all over its shell.
"It looks like a clam decoration." Will shrugged as if the mysterious clam was not important matter. Sirena just stared at, eyes wide.
"I-I know w-what it is," Sirena finally spoke up.
"Oh?" Said Will at the exact same time Garry said, "Really? What is it?"
"It- well- it's a uh- a Wishing Clam. It grants three wishes." Sirena gulped big. This was good news.for her.Sirena could finally have her wish.
But, is she brave enough?
