Venom set out on his nightly walk at a brisk pace, it had become his routine for the last seven years.

No matter how long time went by, the pain of his lost was still fresh. His walks in the comfort of the dark were the only thing that kept him sane.

The single moon out shone with an intensity that was almost unbelievable. It was beautiful, but he didn't care. He kept walking deeper and deeper into the rainforest.

The leaves crunched under his feet as he walked, and he unconsciously
changed his scales to match the night.

She could've saved her...but she didn't want to. Why? Because she's selfish. She's a stupid liar. Azalea shouldn't have died. It's all her fault. No, it's their fault.

His thoughts guided him away from his usual path, and without knowing it, the Rainwing reached an abandoned part of the Nightwing village.

It hadn't hosted any dragons in its mist for the past seven years. After the incident so long ago, all the dragons moved out in a hurry.

Venom looked around. He didn't know how he had gotten here. It didn't matter, the place was giving him the chills and he started to retrace his steps, but some kind of movement from above caught his eye.

The vengeful Rainwing looked up and inhaled in shock as a bright silver egg slowly rolled out from an abandoned hut.

Its pointed tip faced the moonlight shining through the small leaves of the rainforest canopy.

Venom's curiosity took over him and he flew upwards and toward the mysterious egg.

He landed on the small balcony in the front, next to the egg. Venom gazed in wonder at it, how could anyone leave an egg alone in such a place?! He took a quick look around but saw no one.

Before the Rainwing could do anything about it, the silver egg started to crack. A jagged line ran from top to bottom, and another crack was starting to appear on its side.

In less than a minute, a small Nightwing dragonet stood where the egg once was. Its head hung low, and when he picked it up he spoke in a voice so evil-like and deep that Venom shivered with fear as he took a step back from it.

"The seeker of destiny left me safely behind. I was erased from memories to keep me safe. I am cursed by the stalker of darkness, so that I must kill one innocent living creature each night if I wish to live. The curse also implies that I won't hatch until the heir of the rainforest hatches. And on my seventh year I must take revenge on the queen and kill any royal dragonets she has. Should I fail, I will exist no longer. Every hatching day I shall recite this verse, as it was said by the stalker of darkness. My name shall be Noir."

The Nightwing dragonet looked at the Rainwing with a murderous gleam in his unusual bright grey eyes.

Venom's fear grew and he started to spread his wings to take flight. Escape from the cursed dragonet was his only thought.

He was stopped short, however, when a curious baby mouse stepped in between Venom and Noir.

The dragonet looked at it with curiosity and raised his right front talon. With a speed that seemed impossible, the mouse was dead. Its head squashed completely by Noir's talon.

The Nightwing dragonet looked up at Venom again, and his face had completely changed.

Now he looked like an ordinary dragonet, his mind innocent and his eyes with an entertaining spark only found in the young.

"Are you me pa?" Noir asked.

Venom's confusion was so great he thought his head would explode.

This dragonet spoke perfectly a minute ago, and it just killed a mouse like it was nothing. He didn't even eat it! And now he's asking if I'm his father. There is no way I'm keeping this thing.

Noir took a step forward. He
giggled when he saw Venom take a step backwards.

He doesn't seem so much of a natural-born killer now. And didn't he say something about the stupid queen and taking revenge? Wait...Ah! This is perfect! I can raise him to be my personal weapon, and when the time is right, he can kill the whole family for all I care! Yes, this is a brilliant idea. I can fill him with hate as he grows up, and then, when they least expect it he will strike. Nothing will stand against us! And cursed by Darkstalker himself, I couldn't have been luckier...

A wicked grin spread across Venom's face as his plan for revenge started to form. He scooped up Noir and made himself comfortable in the abandoned hut where the egg had come from.

Don't worry my sweet Azalea, you will be avenged. I promise.

So, yeah. This time I actually have a general idea of where I want the story to go. Which means that it will be way more organized and better written.

I hope.

So, if you have any questions I will answer as honestly as I can without giving too much away.

Any thoughts?

Thank you for staying to read this no matter the mistakes I have made.

Thank you to all of you!

I hope you liked this little prologue, and Glorybringer will be in the next chapter. I swear!
