Richelle's Pov
It was Saturday morning. The sun peeked through my blinds and its warm feeling tickled my skin. I loved summer! Although, today was rather peculiar. You see, Emily had called me to come to the studio at seven sharp with a list of supplies to bring: a water bottle, a few bags of food, a first aid kit and a torch. I had no idea why, but I went along with it anyway.

As soon as I arrived at the studio it was seven. Quickly, I walked into studio A with everything that she had asked for where I was left face to face with three other people: Noah, Jacquie and Henry.

Next to them lay a tent, some more bottles of water and a couple of sleeping bags. I was so confused.

"Ah, Richelle," Emily waved, a bright beam on her face, "you're here!"

"Emily, why are we here?" Jacquie asked.

"Well," Emily began, beginning to stroll around us all, "you see, each of you have a problem with one other person in this room. You're all the same dance team. For you to really be a team, you need to put aside your differences. So, I have made arrangements for you all to go hiking and stay overnight in the woods together!"

We all groaned. I couldn't stand looking at Jacquie, let alone sleeping in s tent with her or hiking with her.

"Do we have to?" Henry asked, cocking an eyebrow.

"Yes! Now, here is a map with everywhere that you must walk to within today and tomorrow," Emily handed me the map.

"Emily that's forty miles today," I piped up as everyone came to see.

"What, too much for you?" Jacquie remarked, making me roll my eyes.

"Fifty tomorrow?" Noah asked, I could hear the annoyance in his voice.

"Yes okay! Besides, this'll help with fitness training too," Emily crossed her arms. "Now, I'm going to drive you to your first checkpoint and from then on you're on your own. I'll meet you at Fox Creek tomorrow at 7 in the evening."

We all watched Emily's small midnight black car drive off into the distance as she left us alone. We had been dumped in a forest; a dark forest. For the first time in my life, I felt vulnerable. My stomach churned with fear as I realised how afraid I was of the woods.

No! I was Richelle! I wasn't afraid of anything and I certainly couldn't let the others know that I was scared. I didn't see how this was supposed to make us all friends.

"I guess we better start," Noah broke the silence.

Heavy backpacks were hung on all of our backs, slightly drooping. I already felt tired. I was annoyed and the last thing I wanted was to bicker with Jacquie.

We all began walking forwards, occasionally glancing over to the map that was held in Noah's hands. I made sure to walk as far from them as I could. I didn't want to socialise.

Emily hadn't told us what to wear, and I was in shorts and a t-shirt with no item of warm clothing at all. It wasn't cold at the moment, but I knew it would be later.

My legs were being attacked by brambles and were already a bloody mess. It wasn't like I had been attacked by a bear or anything, though. I just couldn't wait for this all to be over.

"Hey, Richelle! Come back!" Henry called.

I groaned internally as I walked back to them, following like a sheep.
