A Choni Story

At the Cooper's, for a date?

Toni's POV

I wake up the next day to Jughead throwing a bagel at me. I look next to me to find the time. 9AM. "Dude what the fuck it's Saturday!" I scream at him down the hall. "Yea yea quit whining eat and shower we're going to the Cooper's at 11 and I said I'd bring food." I sigh and get up. I don't even fucking like bagels. I get up and throw two waffles in the toaster, eat them and get in the shower. 

I put on a grey t-shirt with my serpent jacket over it, and black jeans with boots. I put limited make up on and then watch Netflix while I wait for Jug. He takes longer on his hair than I do to get totally ready.

Cheryl's POV

I go downstairs to find Betty making pancakes. The Cooper's are truly a blessing. Without them I don't even know what my mother would've done to me. After Polly told them how my mother treated me, they just showed up and took me, threatening to call the police on her.

Alice Cooper is really a badass.

When I sit down next to Betty, and she hands me my breakfast I ask her what her plans are for today. She smirks and turns to me, "Jughead and Toni are coming over today." She watches in humor as I spit out my drink and turn to her with wide-eyes. "Betty!" I yell, "Why didn't you wake me!  What time are they coming! What should I wear-" "Shhhh" Betty interrupts me by putting a finger over my mouth.

I sigh, "Betty why didn't you tell me?" "I didn't want to freak you out, I know you like her." "Well duh I do! Why do you think I just lost my shit!" "Listen Cheryl I have it on good authority that she likes you too...so relax.  They'll be here at 11 and it's 9:30 now. Also I'm not sure if you remember who carried you into bed last night, but it was your little serpent." I start blushing and barely stutter out a, "no fucking way. Are you serious! Now I really have to get ready."

I immediately get up and run upstairs and right into the shower. 

Betty's POV

I knew Cheryl and Toni liked each other, especially after what Toni did for her last night. I think Toni sees right through Cheryl's bitchy ways. She used to be a total bitch to me before, too, but she just needed some love, and to be away from her bitchy mom. 

Jug and I have been planning this for a while. They'd come over early and me and Jug will work on the paper. We'll leave them to hang, but recommend Pop's and a movie for later. Hopefully it all goes according to plan. 

Toni's POV  

It's 11:30 and we're a bit late because Jughead took to long on his hair, and had to get his computer at school. And we forgot the food. He said he'd get it later with Cheryl so I could talk to Betty. I guess Jug and Cheryl were kinda close, it's pretty cute that Jug is friends with all of Betty's family. 

We pulled up outside the Cooper's. Jug told me Alice wasn't here so I didn't have to worry about meeting the fam yet. I followed him up the stairs. I wasn't really nervous, mostly scared she wouldn't remember me from last night or that she secretly hates me. 

Betty opened the door with Cheryl on the couch behind her, she looked amazing even from 15 feet away. She was wearing a red skirt with a black v-neck. Hot. "Hi Betty, hi Cheryl", I said. Jug just kissed Betty hello and waved to Cheryl. 

Betty started talking to all of us, "Okay here's the deal, me and Jug have to work on the paper so you guys can hang out until we're done, then maybe we can get some lunch or go to Pop's and a movie later?" I looked at Cheryl and then said "Yea that sounds cool to me, what about you Cheryl?" She looked up at me and smiled, "Yea sounds great to me", then she looked at Jughead and Betty, "I think we should see 'A Quiet Place', I know Betty wants to see it." 

Jughead looked at me, knowing I hate scary movies, and said "Yea cool Toni wanted to see that too." 

Minor timeskip, Jug & Betty are in Betty's room, working on the paper, and Toni and Cheryl are in the living room on the couch. Cheryl's POV

Toni looked great today, in such a casual way. We were basically just waiting for Jughead and Betty to finish their work or whatever. I had just sat down on the couch, and Toni sat near me, basically 2 feet away from me. She started talking, "So Cheryl, what's up with you?" she asked, smirking. "Well, Cha Cha, not much, I'm just watching 'On My Block' on Netflix and leading the Vixens, what about you?" She rolled her eyes at the 'Cha Cha' comment, which I sported a little smile at. "Well Blossom, I just happen to be watching the same show as you! And hmm maybe I'll tryout for the Vixens too, you know I'm a great dancer", she breezily replied.

I laughed back, "we'll see, maybe you can tryout on Tuesday, but in the meantime, why don't we watch 'On My Block' while we wait for Betty and Jughead?" She hummed back and replied with a short "ok". 

I looked at the gap in between us with a scowl, wishing I wasn't so scared to just scoot over. What if she didn't like me like that? I knew she was bi but she didn't know that I was. I wondered if Betty really meant she liked me or if she was just guessing- but all of my questions were answered when she wrapped an arm around me and scooted me over.

She looked at me with a cute little smile, "I didn't like the space." she said. I replied quickly, "me either". We sat like that for a while, until soon enough Betty and Jughead were ready to go. It was 4 o'clock. We just had pizza for lunch, and decided dinner and a movie would be alright anyway. 

Toni's POV

We all drove in my car, because we'd be back to drop the girls off later. When we got to Pop's we sat with Archie, Veronica, and Kevin. I didn't really know them all that well but I liked Kevin, he was funny. Not a huge fan of Archie and Veronica since the whole Hiram-South side incident, but I guess she was Cheryl's friend so I can manage. Besides, not everyone is like their parents. 

We talked for a while, had dinner and hung out until the movie time. They were watching 'Love, Simon' and we were going to watch 'A Quiet Place', and of course we decided to watch them both together. It was gonna be a long night. 

As we were all finishing eating, a.k.a. Jughead, who ordered 2 burgers, I had my arm around Cheryl and was low-key staring. She looked back and smirked. "What?", she asked, smiling. "You're beautiful" I whispered, and watched her blush. She leaned her head on my shoulder for the rest of our time at Pop's.
