Time For A Battle

Miyeon POV

(At school)

The day of the festival has finally arrived. She and JInhee had been practicing nonstop. Ashley arrived yesterday but refused to see the performance beforehand. 

"I want it to be a surprise!" She reasoned indignantly. Miyeon and Jinhee laughed in amusement. It was really nice that they could finally meet in person after years of talking online. 

Currently, they were on their way to the school auditorium. Ashley headed towards the seats while Jinhee and Miyeon went backstage. 

"Good luck!!" Ashley shouted as they left. 

Each contestant was assigned to a different waiting room, but they were allowed to watch the other performances while waiting for their turn. 

The first group to perform was an acapella group. They did a mix of Pentatonix's songs and added their own flair. Their harmonies were outstanding, but the overall performance was rather lackluster since their beatboxer was unable to attend. 

Next was a band with five members. They performed an original song called "Shoot Me" which was amazing! People were cheering wildly after they finished. Despite being an opponent, Miyeon had to agree that they really had a lot of talent. 

Up next was a dance group. There were so many people, so their presence really stood out in comparison to the other contestants. This group used a medley of pop songs and created their own choreography. 

After them, it was finally BTOB's turn. Miyeon looked around in excitement, hoping to find Changsub before he went on. And as if he was looking for her too, they immediately caught each others' eyes. 

"Um... hey. I'm Miyeon, just in case you don't remember. I decided to join after all," Miyeon said. 

"Of course I remember you! I would never forget such a beautiful name," Changsub blurted out. 

"O-oh thanks, hahaha." 

"No problem! Uh... hey, listen. I have to go now, but there's something I want to talk to you about. Can we meet up after the festival?" Changsub asked, red spreading all the way up to his ears. 

"Sure! Good luck! I'll talk to you later then." 

As Changsub made his way up to the stage with the rest of the group, Miyeon couldn't help but replay their conversation continuously in her mind. He said my name pretty. Pretty. PRETTY!!! Ahh that makes me so happy. What did he want to talk about though? Oh geez, I'm getting so nervous now. 

After finding their positions, a serene melody began to play. Everyone was drawn into the performance immediately due to the beautiful voices and the choreography that matched the vibe perfectly. When Changsub's part came up, he sang with a soft voice full of emotion while gazing down at Miyeon.

Entranced by the beauty of the performance, Miyeon couldn't look away the entire time. By the time it ended, she had tears streaming down her face and wished the performance could last forever. She wasn't the only one who felt this way as everyone in the audience stood up and chanted "Encore! Encore! Encore!" 

Miyeon and Jinhee were a bit anxious to perform next. BTOB gave a flawless performance and this was Miyeon and Jinhee's first time performing in front of so many people. However, after taking some deep breaths, they decided to just enjoy themselves. Whatever happens, will happen.
