The sun seemed to shine even more radiantly this morning, gently but semi-annoyingly awakening Bodo through the glass window. In his sleepy haze he smacked his face in attempt to fan away the sunlight on his eyelids, but that's not how the light works.
Bodo's room was a cozy one, so it was understandable if he didn't wanna leave bed for another few hours. Maps were hung around the walls of his humble abode, and there were pictures of knights everywhere aswell. Somewhat of an obsession. A banner of the Alliance draped over his bed, and his satchel that nearly got him killed days prior was sitting on the bed's leg.
The young and sleepy man stretched his arms, yawning his mouth so wide that it could rival a cat's yawn, and turned to place his feet on the ground for another day. "Morning already, huh?" He rubbed his eyes and looked at his clock. "OH NO! I'M LATE!" Bodo SPRUNG out of bed, and quickly equipped his Squire uniform, rushing to the kitchen for some quick breakfast before heading out! "Oh! Goodmorning honey! You're up quite earl-" "Goodmorning mother!" Bodo rushed to give his mom a kiss on the cheek. "Is this breakfast? Looks delightful! Thank you mom! Say goodmorning to father for me! Bye I love you!" he rushed, grabbing his cloth backpack of lunch, while simultaneously saying his farewells- so fast that his mother was left speechless for awhile after he had closed the door to leave.
"..Love you too, son!.. WoW.. he's energetic for being up this earl-"
"Goodness gracious is that.." There was a rushing zoom coming from the forest, a force so urgent it seemed to startle any critters and part grass and leaves in it's wake. Paladins and squires alike awoke from their cabins to come outside at what was causing this commotion. "Young Steelsworn?!"
Bodo appeared so fast in front of Sir Jayder at the door of the Abbey, it seemed that a gust of wind followed him. "Reporting for Duty sir!" The eager boy saluted his Paladin tutor. "..." "S-Sir Jayder?.." Bodo waved a hand at the veteran. "Snrnngghh...- HUh? What!" Who was apparently still more than half asleep. "Goodmorning Sir Jayder! I am here!" "B-Bodo..? Isthat-.. You.. *Yawn* know you're two hours early, correct?.." The Knight was looking awfully less majestic than the previous days, especially due to him being in his Lion undergarments.
A silence fell over the abbey.
"......"
"TWO HOURS EARLY, SIR JAYDER?!" "YES YOUNG STEELSWORN, TWO. WHOLE. HOURS.!" "HOW COULD THIS HAVE HAPPENED?! I must've had my clock upside down or read it wrong!" Bodo bonked his head, but quickly collected his composure. "I mean- I just thought it would be a nice first impression! To show up early that is! You know.. show my enthusiasm for the ways of the light!" Sir Jayder was trying not to pass out. "Son.. You do know that even the light itself isn't out yet.." He pointed at the sky, absent of the sun. "Oh. Huh." They looked up.
Jayder placed a hand on Bodo's shoulder. "But I'm glad you showed up, Lad. Come on in and relax before our orientation today starts." He gave the young boy a warm but sleepy smile, and Bodo returned one. Equally as sleepy.
"Sounds good to me!" Bodo concealed a yawn and walked inside with the Paladin.
Setting his belongings down in a chair on the other corner of Jayder's living quarters, Bodo was kept awake at the awe of gazing upon a veteran Paladin's room! Everything caught the fascinated squire's eye, from something as mundane as a silver spoon to something as grand as a mounted horns of a Yeti! Bodo immediately lost all sense of self restraint and went straight to eyeballing everything in the Paladin's room. "Did you slay this yourself!? Woah! You've been to the Burning Steppes? Is this YOUR SPOON?!" Imagining his biggest hero eat food was something strangely amazing for Bodo. He picked up a map. "You like maps too?! What's this golden and red city? Looks magical!" Jayder stared at the boy running around his room, very tiredly, before turning over and snuggling his blanket. "You sure are a boy of wonder huh.." Young Steelsworn looked down at him, placing the map back. "Uhm.. heh.." He was suddenly blushing of embarrassment. "I really am a fan-boy huh-" Bodo's thoughts we're cut off. "I'm sure you'll be able to gather such treasures of your own soon enough." The grizzled Knight smiled with closed eyes. Bodo's heart raced at the thought- especially with such encouragement and belief coming from THE SIR JAYDER! It felt like there were Wolpertingers bouncing around Bodo's chest, ready to burst out from excitement! But he sat down, smiling, and giggled to himself. "I hope.."
"You might even get your own Silver Spoon one day!" Jayder teased. "Hey! Haha!"
"Speaking of which.." Bodo began to eat his breakfast his mother packed for him. "Oh! Herb baked eggs and Spice bread! Yum!"
