"What class do you have next, Capri?" Lee asked as she walked by my side which was quite unusual really. At my old school, I didn't walk with anyone to my classes.
"Pre-Cal with Ms.Benner. Room 502." I muttered.
"I know where that is! I'll show you there." Lee chirped. It felt nice to actually have a friend for once, because I was terrible with directions.
"Hey, are you wearing AXE or something? I can smell it." Lee mused.
Jammit.
"Boys' locker room. Long story." I ran my hands through my hair and inwardly groaned.
As we strolled through the crowded hallways, I noticed that this highschool was way different than my old school, St.Agnes. One, there were guys. At St.Agnes, there were only girls. Two, this highschool was way dirtier than St.Agnes. The people had overly greasy hair, the walls looked like they had been painted a century ago, and just overall, Wentworth looked unsanitary.
While I judged the school and the people, Lee was chatting about who knows what.
"Oh look! Room 502, Ms.Benner! Have a great class, Capri! You smarticle particle! Good luck!" Lee chirped.
"Okay. Thanks for showing me around. See you, Lee." I smiled.
She returned the smile, waved and walked away.
It was time to meet my new peers and hope that I wouldn't become the weird, mute new girl. I strolled into the class, and saw the typical highschool scene. Popular people in the front of the class, gossiping with eachother. Then the outcasts in the back of the class listening to some type of unknown music. The studious, quiet people sit by themselves discussing education, and then normal people in the middle of the class. Normally I would walk to the back of the class and sit by myself and listen to some pretty normal music. Today though, I was going to sit with the normal people and try to be normal.
I walked through the aisles and started to decide where to sit. Definitely away from the boys, I had enough of boys already. There was a girl sitting next to the window, with black hair covering her face. Perfect. That is, until she looked up, and I couldn't count the amount of numbers of piercings covering her face. Yeah, maybe not. I saw a redhead with perfect posture, organizing her school supplies on her desk. I didn't do neat freaks. I passed her desk, but her head whipped up.
"You. You're new. What's your name." She spoke so proper and sharp, I couldn't help but flinch. She didn't ask a question, she ordered.
"Um, Capricorn Nelson? But I go by Capri." I replied. I almost answered with a salute and a "Sir, yes sir."
"I'm Mia Olivia Harper. Freshmen and Sophomore President, and hopefully, I'll be the president again for this year. You should vote for me." She smiled.
I pulled at my shirt collar. "But isn't it the first day of school?"
She laughed, "Never too early to gain allies."
"Right." Mia was insane. Then again, wasn't everyone in politics crazy?
"Sit down, Capricorn. By my right, please."
I nodded with a nervous grin on my face. I dropped my backpack on the ground and slid into the seat. So much for being normal today.
"So Capricorn, what school did you previously attend?" Mia asked or interrogated.
"St. Agnes. It was a private school. Only girls." I twiddled my thumbs.
"Wow. Prestigious." She nodded.
Mia opened her mouth to probably ask me another question, but the bell rang. Thank goodness.
An old lady walked in the room and smiled. "Hi class. I'm Ms. Benner and I'll be teaching Pre-Cal this year."
