Amarillo Sky

I always like to take the Scenic road to Piper Cain's home. Winding roads, beautiful maple and elm trees, and if I'm lucky enough, seeing pipers favorite kind of bird, a Lincoln Sparrow perched on the sturdy outstretched power line that seems to extend for miles.

Slightly declining speed I crane my neck out my window my head up to the sky. The sun being so bright my right eye automatically starts to close. My mind can't help but wander and think God seemed to paint a picture in the sky just for this evening, a beautiful 8 o' clock amarillo sky. It must be meant to reflect the funniest, goofiest, most beautiful girl I've ever known, that name being Piper Cain.

Coming back to reality I realize I'm creeping on the road, barely going 5mph in my white Jeep Grand Cherokee, probably creeping out every house with a child in it. I shake my head with a laugh and put my foot to the petal, glancing left in my passenger seat at the beautiful, bright, yellow sunflowers I picked early this morning and wrapped in newspaper. Excited to see Piper and hear her daily ramble of her love of birds and everything else under the sun.
