Casey's POV
I'm Casey, yes I know. My name sounds like I'm supposed to be a girl but people call me Cade.
I've always struggled with my identity.
Who am I?
Or
Why can't I be normal?
My parents haven't really accepted me and have always thought that I was crazy or weird.
Since they are religious I have to go to church every few weeks and pray for a God or religion that I don't believe in because in my opinion, it is all
BULLSHIT!
In this story I was 17, nearly 18 and have to live with unachievable expectations.
Let's start with the story.
*First day of senior year*
My mom woke me up at 8 and forced me to go to school.
What's the point?
Why can't we start school at 10 or 11?
I grabbed a piece of toast and strolled out of the front door. And I saw my neighbor. He didn't go to my school, he went to a boarding school but had been excluded for 2 weeks so he was home. I hid behind my car, trying not to be noticed.
Why am I like this?
I can talk to girls fine and nothing happens but when a good looking boy comes, I die.
I need help.
His shirt was drenched and it clung tightly to his abs.
Oh god.
I ran out from behind my car and opened the driver's door and got in.
I took a long exhale of relief and slumped down in my seat.
It was already 8:50. Shit. I started my car and drove off into the distance.
I arrived at school at 9 and went through the gate and to my first class, which was music.
I picked up my guitar from the room and started playing the chords for Treat you better by Shawn Mendes.
🎵
I won't lie to you
I know he's just not right for you
And you can tell me if I'm off
But I see it on your face
When you say that he's the one that you want
And you're spending all your time
In this wrong situation
And anytime you want it to stopI know I can treat you better
Than he can
And any girl like you deserves a gentleman
Tell me why are we wasting time
On all your wasted cryin'
When you should be with me instead
I know I can treat you better
Better than he canI'll stop time for you
The second you say you'd like me to
I just wanna give you the loving that you're missing
Baby, just to wake up with you
Would be everything I need and this could be so different
Tell me what you want to do'Cause I know I can treat you better
Than he can
And any girl like you deserves a gentleman
Tell me why are we wasting time
On all your wasted cryin'
When you should be with me instead
I know I can treat you better
Better than he can

عاطفيةI have never known who I am. This is a story from my senior year in high school, where I try to figure out who I am and why I was put on this planet in the first place.
