Chapter 30

Shakeya

I was shaking like I had never seen a dead bodies before. He was gasping and trying to talk.

"Aubrey please stop trying to talk. Just calm down ok. The ambulance is coming."

He just held my hand and looked at me with fear in his eyes. I wasn't going to let him die.

Dawn was rambling to herself still and saying crazy shit. I felt terrible for Raven.

"Kima get my phone and call Desire for me now."

She was crying and shaking. I could hear the sirens coming in the distances.

Desire

I had just laid AD down. He was napping and the girls were in the pool with Carlos and Cj.

My phone was ringing in the bathroom so I ran to get it so I didn't wake AD.

"Hello."

I could hear someone crying and trying to get the words out. I could hear sirens.

"Hello. Who is this?"

When I looked at the number it was Shakeya. Why was there sirens?

"Key what is happening?"

I was getting scared and I felt sick to my stomach.

"It's Kima. Something horrible just happened." she said.

Why would Kima have Shakeya's phone?

"Kima where is Shakeya? What is happening?"

I could hear what seemed to be paramedics and police talking in the background.  I heard someone take the phone.

"Des you have to meet me at the hospital. I will talk to you when you get here. Aubrey was shot in the chest twice." she said.

My heart dropped and so did my phone. I felt like I couldn't breathe. I could hear Shakeya calling my name, but I couldn't speak or move.

Imani came in the room. "Mommy brother is crying. Mommy. Mommy." she said.

She ran out of the room and when she came back she had her Uncle Carlos with her.

He picked up the baby. "Des what is wrong?" he said.

He picked up my phone. "Bae what is going on?" he asked.

Now he had the same look on his face. "I have to go." I said finally snapping out of it.
