An eternity

The first day of this "adventure" I was going to embark on consisted of Bill commenting on everything I was doing wrong. It was annoying, but at least when he pointed it I could quickly fix it. In a weird, fucked up way, we were a good team. And after a long day at school I was able to plop on my bed at home.

"So do you think that you'll be able to last an eternity with me like this?"

"Nah, you'll grow tired of this eventually, then you'll go bother someone else."

"Pine tree, this is the most fun I've had since weirdmaggedom."

"I'm not sure if that was a compliment or if it was meant to be a foreshadowing of what's to come."

"A little bit of both I suppose." I let out a laugh at that last comment, wait did I just laugh? NO! I DIDNT LAUGH. I HATE HIM. HE HATES ME. NO WAY WE WILL BE FRIENDS.

"Aha.... ok I'm gonna write in my journal now so if you could like... go lay down or something." I guess that was as good excuse as any, and it's not a lie so he can't say anything about that either. A head pokes into my door.

"Dipper? Who were you talking to?" Mabel asked.

"Oh no one" waaait... did I just lie well? That's impossible, I'm a horrible liar.

"It's not entirely impossible, you can only lie well about me, we wouldn't want anyone to find out about out secret no would we?" Bill chimes in.

"Well okay... watchya doin'?" Mabel says.

"Just writing about today's activities."

"Anything exciting in your classes?" Mabel and I were sperated into different classes out of fear that we would get distracted. Honestly, I think mom and dad were a little crazy for doing that.

"Nope, same old same old. What about yours?"

"Ah... another fight broke out today"

"That sucks."

"Yea... I wish high school wasn't such a hormone filled shit land, then maybe we could actually lean something."

"Ditto."

"No offense but teenage guys suck."

"Even though I am one I can agree with that statement"

"I mean, can't they just be mature?!"

"Sis are you okay?"

"What? Yea I'm fine... why?"

"You've kinda been, rambling about one specific thing, did something happen?"

"Well... yes and no, it's not that serious and I know it'll probably happen again but... it's just the first time it's happened."

"Lay it on me."

"So you know how I got onto the cheerleading team this year?"

"Yep."

"Well I was walking around in my cheer uniform because I was required to for the game that was earlier tonight."

"Yea?"

"Well some guys thought that it would be a good idea to "cat call me" about my uniform."

"THE FUCK?!"

"And this is what is was worried about."

"WHAT GIVEZ THEMZ THE RIGHT TO TREAT YOU LIKE THAT?!"

"Dipper, it's not that serious... it's not like they hurt me in any way."

"BUT STILL!!"

"Dipper it's fine." She repeats. I grumble in frustration, what gives them the right to treat her that way? It's dumb, they're dumb. Mable sighs, "I knew I shoudnt have told you."

"WELL.... WELL... HUMPH." Mabel giggles at my frustration. I admit I do get a bit overprotective of her sometimes, especially when it comes to people harassing her.

"That felt good to talk about, thanks bro."

"Anytime," she gets up to leave the room, "and Mabel?"

"Huh?"

"Let me know if we need to beat them up."

"Alright!" She closes the door. I go back to writing in my journal. I can feel bills eyes on me. He's trying to read me on something. I look up from my book to meet his eyes. They're yellow, they almost seem to glow in the dim light of the room. I stare at him for a moment longer before speaking.

"What're you looking at?" I ask him.

"I'm trying to figure out who you've become after all these years." He replies, still making direct eye contact with me. I roll my eyes and get back to writing.

As soon as I'm finished writing I shut off the light, now I see that his eyes definitely glow. We sit in silence for a few minutes.

"So, do you sleep?" I question.

"I could if I wanted to."

"Sooo.... can you do that? I don't really like the idea of someone, especially you, watching me while I sleep."

"But I need more information."

"You have an eternity to get more information."  The words I let escape hit me. An eternity. I guess I should get used to him then.

"Yea... an eternity." He closes his eyes and the glow from his eyes is gone. I can't even tell, he's there. I fall asleep shortly afterwards.
