Jack..
Rain pattered against the window pane. The faint din of a thunderstorm echoed throughout the small room. The man pushed himself up off the floor covered in tattered rugs.
He looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings. Bookshelves and dusty lamps decorated the walls. He stumbled to an old desk by a window.
It was almost pitch black except for the flashes of lightning.
Where is this . . .
His head throbbed in pain.
Fuck
When he pulled his hand away from his forehead it was bloody. I need to find a door. Squinting through the dark he blindly felt around the perimeter of the walls for a knob or switch.
Click.
The room lit. A dim bulb hung from the shabby rafters. He ran his fingers through his tangled hair. His eyes flickered throughout the room. Desk. Books. Light. Chair. Rug. Window. Gun. Lantern. Map.
Gun
He licked his lips as he carefully walked over to it. The shiny black exterior was unscratched. He delicately picked it up and inhaled its essence.
"Now there's something hah!"
He cracked a smile and turned around towards the shabby wooden door.
"Time to boogey"
