Y/N's POV
I set down my towel, texting to ask where the guys are after my long studio session. I turn to see Y/B/F/N already sunbathing, as usual.
"Y/N!!!!" I hear the one and only Sammy Wilk shout.
"SAMMY BOYYYY!!" I say running over to hug him, seeing Jack and Jack with him.
"Hey, how you guys all been? I haven't seen you since-"
"You and Nate had your big ass argument and broke up?" Gilinsky says, before giving me a nudge. "Found a new guy yet?"
"Nope, but clearly he has. New girl, new friends, brand new. Do you guys even talk anymore?" I say, rolling my eyes as I apply my sunscreen.
"Barely ever to be honest, he doesn't really talk to any of us guys anymore." Sammy sighs, it clearly hurts him. His bestfriend, also my ex, completely changed after coming out to California.
"Aye, Sammy and the Jacks! Give me a sec, lil mama!" I hear the voice that broke my heart. I gulp as I see his shadow getting closer. I put on my sunglasses, hiding my teary eyes. I haven't seen him since the fight.
"My boy, how you been?" Sammy says, doing some weird boy hand shake that they all do.
"I've been pretty good bro, kinda living the life. I been getting high, getting drunk every night." Nate didn't even realise I was there.
I tap the already asleep Y/B/F/N.
"You wanna go in the water?" I ask quietly, hoping Nate wouldn't hear.
"Oh, uh h-hi Y/N. Didn't expect to see you here..." Nate stutters, avoiding eye contact.
"Likewise, swear it's like I don't even know you anymore." I sourly chuckle, getting up to go swim.
After around 10 minutes of swimming, I decide to get up and go write a new track I thought of.
"Guys, I'll see you later. Y/B/F/N, I'll be back at the apartment later, don't wait up. Nate, uh, see you around I guess."
I hurriedly get into my G-Wagon, rushing over to the studio.
As I arrive, I walk in to see him already there.
"Scooter, I got a new song idea!" I squeal.
3 months later...
Paparazzi follow, asking questions as always.
"So, Y/N, when's the new single being released? You've been teasing us for too long!"
"How's the love life, Y/N?"
It's the last question I freeze at.
"Y/N, how do you feel about Nate supposedly saying how much he missed you in some subtweets?"
I keep walking, deciding I can't be late to my own surprise song release party.
8:00pm
"Hi everyone, so as you all already know, this is my song release party!!" I say excitedly, as the whole room cheers me on. Then I see him, red nosed looking like he hadn't stopped crying in a long, long time.
"So guys, this is my new song called RIP, it's from past experiences and it's a very sentimental song to me."
As the beat starts, I prepare myself to sing the song about my ex in front of him.
"You don't make time like you used to. Got a new girl, new friends, brand new. I swear it's like I don't even know you. Yeah, I miss the old you." I sing, looking straight at him.
"I kinda wanna fight like we used to, to make it alright like we used to. Anything, cause I didn't wanna loose you. But this time we've gone too far. This new you, this new dude; don't know him, don't want to. I wish that I still knew the old him, the old you." I sing as I have to pretend I'm singing it to my "ex" who's a back up dancer. As I sneak a look at Nate, I see him stood alone still, and Sammy screaming me on.
"RIP to the old you, I miss the old you, it's like your dead to me now. RIP to the old you, I fucking miss you, I would have never let you down like you did to me, now your dead to me. RIP." I sing as I do all the dance choreography we practiced.
"You're acting like the people that we hated, you're hanging with the worst and I hate it. All you do now is get too faded, you think you're the shit now. Now everything is too complicated, you can try, but there's no way to save it because you're too caught up in that fake shit. I wish that we could just restart, just restart." I start to tear up as I cry, wishing we could go back in time.
"This new you, this new dude. Don't know him, don't want to. I wish that I still knew the old him, the old you." I keep going on, holding in the croaks in my voice, tears now streaming down my face.
"RIP to the old you, I miss the old you, it's like your dead to me now. RIP to the old you, I fucking miss you, I would have never let you down like you did to me. Now your dead to me, RIP. RIP to the old you, I fucking miss you, it's like your 6 feet underground." I sing as I walk down the runway of the stage, standing right next to Nate.
"One day you gon' miss me, you'll come running back and you'll hit me up but I won't answer that shit, nah, I won't answer that shit, nah. One day I won't miss you, when I'm drunk and sad I won't hit you up because I'll be over that shit yeah, I'll be over that shit yeah." I look straight at him, seeing every single memory in this one boy I adored, before he changed.
"RIP to the old you, I miss the old you, it's like you're dead to me now. RIP to the old you, I fucking miss you, I would have never let you down, like you did to me, now you're dead to me, RIP." I go back to my first position, wiping my tears away
"RIP to the old you, I fucking miss you, it's like you're six feet in the ground." I look straight into Nate's eyes as I finish my last line.
As I thank the audience, I see Nate walk towards to side of the stage I get off at. "THANK YOU EVERYONE. MY SINGLE WILL BE ONE ITUNES, SPOTIFY AND WELL, ANYTHING YOU CAN THINK OF!! GOODNIGHT AND LETS PARTYY!!"
I walked towards the exit of the stage, as Nate did the last thing I expected he'd do.
He got down on one knee, while holding a small black box.
