JD and Veronica are now 12 its been 7 years since they meet in that park."Jaybird why dont you go and play with the other kids? Is me reading to you reallllllllyyyy that interesting?" Veronica rolled her eyes. JD huffed sticking out his touge at her leaning his head against the side of the school wall a bit off of the playground closer to the kids who where playing hopscotch.
"Because Dearest bookworm the other kids arent nice like you. Theyre dumb and your my friend anyway well you and Marthie that is." He said his nickname for their other friend in a somewhat annoyed tone. JD didnt care to much for Martha, sure he liked being around her and she was a great friend and an awesome person but- Veronica seemed to know his every thought.
She understood every mood every tick every brush of his hand through the side of his hair.
Like she could read him front to back, back to front and upside down- she knew him like her ABC's. By heart.
"You understand me better than anyone Veronica. And I don't know how or why, but I like it."
He smirked softly"Whatever da big dork."
She giggled a blush coating her face as she punched him in the arm."Easy kitten."
He chuckled and she stuck her tongue out at him."Kitten? I like that."
She giggled and continued to read him the novel him scooting closer every once in a while leaning over her shoulder to see the book or giving a "if looks could kill" glare to anyone who dare make a joke or come near his Veronica. -wait hold up. What the flying fuck?! His Veronica.
JD panniced over his thoughts.
'I couldn't...Like her...Could I?' He said to himself in his headYes JD had fallen in love with his best friend. Veronica Sawyer.
This was gonna be one hell of a happy ending.
