So today is Friday and after school I'm going to Ava's for a pool party. Im wearing my fav bikini beneath a navy crop top with a lace pocket and short, faded shorts. When I got there it was just girls, but within an hour I think everyone was there. I was just about to get some coke when I heard a voice behind me. As I turn around I see Everyone gathering around in the circle to play spin the bottle.
The first person to spin the bottle was Ava. All of the boys gathered in a circle with Ava. She spins the bottle and it lands on Sam.
"Ew, gross," jokes Ava. She grabs his hand and takes him in the pool shed.
"Ok who's next?" Asks one of the people there I didn't know.
"I'll go," says a familiar voice. I see zach step forward, and all the girls get in a circle around him. He spins the bottle, and it lands on me!
He walks over to me and slowly creates less the space between us and then he laces his fingers with mine. He kisses me in front of our friends, but only for a few seconds. He pulls away, and smiles. I smile back. And he looks quite happy. I ask, "who's next?" The game keeps on going, and Ava and Sam finally come back out of the pool shed.
"Wow, you guys were in there a long time," I comment. Ava's cheeks get really red. Thankfully for her, the next people go in the shed. The game keeps going until everyone has had a turn and everyone has been kissed.
"Hey" he said
Flustered, I replied"Um.... hii"
Suddenly he seemed nervous and said "Do you want come with us to get ice cream or something?
Trying to hide my happiness I tried to casually say ya, sure but I said "I would absolutely love to!"
There wasn't enough room in the other car for both of us, so he offered to take me in his car. It was a silver convertible. the ice cream place we were going to was about 15 minutes away.
I didn't want to look like an idiot just standing there seeing what I want while everyone else was eating. I take forever to make descisions...
So, I checked my pockets to see what I could afford. I suddenly realized I didn't have ANY money.
"Darn" I said
A crease appeared in his forehead as if he was truly worried about me, and sencirely asked," what's wrong."
"I forgot my money...." I replied
He smiled warmly at me and said "it's fine I have some extra money"
I suddenly felt like I was floating and in heaven. I had butterflies in my stomach. I hesitated so I could get my voice half-steady. I managed to say thank you and immediately said after that " I'll pay you back as soon as I get home."
He smirked and replied," no worries, it's on me. It's the least I can do."
I smiled weakly and the butterflies got even worse (as if they weren't bad already)
I didn't think I could get any more nervous.
****at the ice cream place****
Because zach was paying, I (of course) ordered the least expensive thing on the menu.
I ordered the sugar cone with cake batter ice cream. And boy was I getting cold. Zach was sitting next to me and nicely gave me his jacket when he saw me shivering.
"Thanks" I said. (Aren't I clever?)
"Sure,no problem" he said
And once again, we were the only ones there that weren't dating someone. But I have to day I'm very suprised that Zach isn't dating someone. He athletic, good-looking, and sooo nice and funny.
