They both laid down staring at the night sky as the holy seven stars danced above them in tune with the howling of the wolves. The moon reminded her of the man laying beside her. Lonely with a dark side, but she knew that in certain instances he would turn and drop the veil of mystery revealing a shiny part of his soul. Oh, and how she wanted to reach and touch his naked soul. Her fingers like destitute children would seek refuge within him. But he was a drifter, and she did not know if she could always follow him- or find him when she doesn't even know his name.

"What is your name?" She finally asked the question that was on her mind since the moment they met.

"I have already told you too much about me." He reminded her.

"I feel like you are an ocean of sorrows that I have to cross happily."

"What do you mean?" He turned his head to look at her.

"I have to remain by your side for now, thus I have no choice but to cross you in order to get to my destination. But you are not making my journey easy because you are like this hybrid of... dilemmas and sorrows." She explained.

"Sorrows?" He was confused.

"You come from a disappointing background."

"Just because the first chapter starts with a loss does not mean that it is the highlighted part of my story. You are an Astéri aren't you supposed to be optimistic?"

"I am," she defended herself, "that is why I said that I have to cross you happily. I must not allow your distress to attract negative energy towards me."

"L."

"Pardon me?"

"My name," he got up, "my name is L." He walked back inside.

For the first time, Fire did not follow him. L... that suddenly became her favourite letter. That letter will be stuck on her lips like prayers on a priest's lips. She fancied him. She fancied this brute but she refused to admit it. At first she just brushed it off because he was a devilishly handsome man. Nevertheless, the more she spent time with him the more intoxicated with love she became. It is like he lives inside of her; she feels him even when he is not close by. Oh and when he is not, she grows restless by the seconds.

Fire entered the cottage with her head down. L noticed that her glow was faded tonight. He wished to get closer and comfort her but he knew that he must not get used to taking care of her. The less attached he is to this creature the easier his task will be.
Her stomach growled.

"You need to eat." He ordered nicely.

"I don't eat mea-"

"You don't eat meat, yes I know." He interrupted her and handed her a black bag. "I don't know if you will like it but I brought you some berries that I found while I was hunting this morning."

She suspiciously took the bag from him and opened it.

"Where did you get these from? I did not see any fertile trees yesterday."

"Just eat them."

L watched her eat the berries while moaning in pleasure. He chuckled at the thought of an asexual creature experiencing any kind of appetence.

"Why are you laughing?" She raised an eyebrow.

"I have never thought that asexual creatures are able to moan." He smiled.

"Asexuality is misunderstood," she looked at him bleakly, "I know your kind always makes fun of us for breeding asexually but it is how we operate. Being asexual does not mean we cannot express other kinds of pleasures or feel pleasure; asexuality is simply the lack of interest in having intercourse."

"But how do your kind breed exactly?"

"In a poetic, more elegant way. It is hard to describe."

"Show me then." His voice was calm.

"I beg your pardon?" She looked at him blankly.

"Show me how your kind breed." He casually repeated.

Is he mentally deranged? She thought, she cannot simply share such intimate experience with a stranger. Undoubtedly, she is falling for him but she is not his inamorata. Their bound is not strong enough to participate in such a powerful and deep experiment.

"No," she resented, "I am not going to share something special with a stranger. In addition, what if I get pregnant? It only takes one time."

He burst into laughter, "pregnant? My wench, we are two different species your womb is not programmed to carry a baby with foreign chromosomes."

He was right. Besides his kind breed sexually, so without his semen intruding her body she will be fine. But will her heart be fine? How can she casually dismiss whatever they are about to share in the morning? The crescent moon and the stars will no longer adorn the sky tomorrow, but the sun won't help her forget what she is about to do.

She slowly got up and walked towards him. A tiny spark shined in his lilac piercing eyes, but it quickly vanished, and soon was replaced by... Anticipation? Pleasure? Curiosity?

"You have to stand up," she blushed.

He stood up and got closer to her, she could feel his cold breath on her cheeks. She slowly wrapped her arms around his waist and laid her head on his chest.

"The female needs to place her ears on the male's chest to make sure that their heartbeats match," she explained every move, "else this won't work."

L hugged her back and waited patiently for whatever was going to happen. But he was not prepared at all. And even after this experience, he will still not be prepared. A green fluorescent glow covered the room like a stretched sky. The space between their bodies shined with multicoloured lightning. The bead kept growing and his pleasure grew along with it. An orgasmic feeling creeped up into both of their bodies and travelled down their spine. And without consent, that orgasm shattered like millions of stars inside of them creating an ineffable sensation. All of his senses have been devoured, he felt like he was floating in another universe while the planets rotated between their joined bodies. The ecstasy started slowly fading when she let go of his body and he could not help but reach out to kiss her.

She loves him, she loves him, she loves him.
