Brianna's mom POV
I knew that Brianna's dad was abusive, he would threaten to kill Brianna if I told the police. I called them and I got Brianna and he got arrested. They gave him life in jail for domestic abuse. I was happy that he was out of our lives. Brianna never spoke since. I feel bad for her having to go through all that. I told the principal of every school she went to that she was mute. All her teachers knew and never picked her for answers. I was happy for that. sometimes she would say 'thank you' and 'you're welcome' but that's it. I would always sing to her before she goes to sleep. I wish she had a better childhood than this.
