Anakin: I'll be back, babe. I'm going to go tell the family the news.
Padme nodded and continued breathing. She was in the bathtub completely naked, with no one else but Rabe and the midwife as Anakin left the apartment bathroom and headed out to where Obi-wan Kenobi and the family were waiting at.
Sola: Is the baby almost ready to come out?
Anakin: (Shakes head) Shouldn't be that much longer. Padme is in the tub now, and she's almost ready to have my daughter.
Ryoo: Can me and Pooja come back?
Anakin: (Sternly) I'm sorry, Ryoo. But I don't want you to see your auntie in pain. It won't be pretty.
Pooja: Aw man.
Anakin: But don't worry. You'll see your baby cousin afterwards.
Obiwan: Anakin. Tell Padme I said she'll do great.
Rabe: (Comes out). Ani. I think Padme's ready.
The 19 year old man smiled and followed Rabe back to the bathroom to start hearing Padme crying. He smiled. She was probably looking for him.
Padme: A-Ani. Are you?...
Anakin: It's alright. I'm here, honey. We're having our baby right now.
Padme: I'm scared as hell.
Anakin: I know. But you're doing so great.
Midwife: Anakin's right, dear. Here's how this works, Padme. I want you to find a position you feel comfortable in. When your next contraction comes, I want you to breathe through it as you push.
Padme nodded. This was it. There was one more half hour before her beautiful little girl was in her arms. She slid down the edge of the tub, looking intently at Anakin. She anxiously shook as her eyes met his.
Padme: You ready to become a father, Ani?
Anakin: Yeah. I'm ready. (Gets into the tub with only his boxers on).
Midwife: Okay, now when the contraction comes, I want you to lean forward and push.
Padme nodded. Her body was taking over and she was going to join the ranks of the millions of women who had done this around the world for centuries. Feeling the starts of a contraction, she drew in a deep breath and pushed as Anakin rubbed her back. As she felt the pain, she winced.
Rabe: You're doing well, best friend.
Midwife: This is how it works, Padme. Your baby will slip back a little bit on each contraction. If she doesn't you'll be torn to shreds. But each time you have a contraction, she moves just a little bit further forward. I promise.
