Oh how I love the smell of dead people.
That is a lie, I hate it. It makes me nauseous. I'm standing above another body. How many I have seen this month? I'm sure that it is at least 5. Ok mabye that is not a lot considering I am a detective but hey I'm still new to the job. It's about 6 in the morning and I am on the beach with my coffee listing to people talk about what happend to the new found body. I hate it when we find someone so early. One of the medic' s start talking to me. His name is Michael. I like Michael. He is like one of the weird kids no one talked to in highschool but he is really sweet and he does his work very well. "ALLY!" he shouts "are you even listening !?" I realise I have been staring at him for the past few minutes " I have totally been listening, what are you talking about." He looks disappointed "ok I'll just repeat myself I guess. The body has no sign of trauma or any wounds. It seems the man just drowned. We would still have to do a full examination in the lab." I take a sip of my coffee "thank you Michael." I say. I leave our conversation at that and go talk to the head of the police.
"So any identification found yet?" The head of the department looks at me surprised And says " didn't expect you to be up yet and no nothing found." This man was such a bully. I didn't like the head much. His name was Richard but I mostly called him dick. He never liked the name much that's what so great about it. "Could you put the report on my desk?" I ask. "Leaving early that is not how a detective should act but yes I shall leave them on your desk." He might be a bully but he could still be nice. I walked directly of the beach and left. I hated the beach when the sky looked so grey. It looked like it was a scene ripped from some sad movie, like a place for a murder to happen. I decided to go back home to get some breakfast.
Arriving home, I fall down on the couch and roll up in a ball. It is way to early for this. I should get a bit more sleep and with those words I drift away.
I open my eyes and look out the window. Shit the sun is already up. I'm late. I close my eyes again and take a deep sniff to take in the smell of the old apartment.
Oh how i loved the smell of dead people.
That is a lie, I hate it. It makes me nauseous. Wait wait wait.... dead people? I shoot up and look around. I see a person laying on the floor with a flower and a letter on his chest.
Oh fuck. This is not good. This is not good at all.
Why does it always start with a body?
