CHAPTER 11

I have no idea what pageant feels or look like. Pageants are never my cup of tea and joining one never even crossed my mind.

Friday is the first practice for the Mr. and Miss Interschool Fest. I was sitting at the back part of the auditorium, alone. My partner hasn’t arrive yet. I frowned when I thought about the partner thing. Aish! Jerk.

We were already informed that the trainer has arrived. I was already walking my way to the stage when a panting Baekhyun grabbed my hand.

            I pushed his hand.

“You’re late,” I huffed while crossing my hands.

“I was really thinking twice on coming,” he replied in breaths.

I shook my head and turned aboutface when he stopped me again.

“We could really protest if you don’t like it Neul Mi,” he coos.

I was stunned by what he said. Does he know that I really don’t like this stuffs? I pondered my thoughts.

BAEKHYUN’S P.O.V

“We could really protest if you don’t like it Neul Mi.”

*flashback*

“What’s with the grumpy face, Baek?” Jong in asked me when I entered the classroom. I skipped lunch though.

“Yeah. We’re not used to that though. What’s up?” Chanyeol queried too.

I slump on the seat beside them.

“Me and Neul Mi are the candidates for the Interschool Fest.”

Chanyeol stood up and stomp his fist on the armchair.

“Are you kidding me, Byun Baekhyun?!”

I was about to open my mouth when Chanyeol grabbed my collar.

“Tell me you are just joking Byun Baekhyun,” he hissed. If looks could kill, I must be dead now.

I held my hands up. He let go of me harshly.

“You’re lucky you’re my bestfriend, Baek. Otherwise, I don’t know.”

I knew Neul Mi don’t like what happened too when later that day, her seat was empty. She is not really into pageants.

I went home in a sluggish way. I lie on my bed and thought things up.

Me and Neul Mi, partners? I smiled. But my smile immediately vanished when I remember the jealousy that I saw on Chanyeol’s eyes. I sighed. How can I tell Chanyeol the truth if being just paired up with her accidentally just put his head up on fire. He is my bestfriend too. I can’t dare to betray him.
