Chapter 1: Just The Beginning

The first year of highschool

Mark's POV

I was woken up 8 hours before I would usually because I'm now in Ireland for probably the rest of my life. After what's been happening since elementary school I'm never going back to California or the US for that matter. I looked at the stitches on my arms and sighed. Why did I need stitches why can't I just wear bandages? Actually, I'd be better off if I bled out the last time I slit. I got dressed in a normal outfit and put on my jacket in which I will never take off at school. My mom yelled, "Mark get your ass down here you're going to be late on your first day!!" I yelled back, "Coming Mom!" I ran downstairs and grabbed my bag. Mom asked, "I thought I was giving you a ride Mark." I replied, "Well then we better get to the car." She yelled, "Dave get down here and take some pictures of Mark before he leaves!!" Dave is my dad. Dad ran downstairs and smiled. He said, "Hey champ how are your arms?" I replied, "Don't hurt. Nothing I slit hurts." He replied, "Mark let me see your arms." I replied, "Alright since I'm not at school I guess I could take off my jacket for a minute but that long exactly." I took off my jacket and put it straight back on. He said, "Mark that wasn't long enough take off your jacket again. Is there something your hiding? Are there new slits is that why you're wearing your black jacket?" I replied, "No dad. I promised you I'd stop remember?" He replied, "I know but you've had your jacket on all morning and haven't taken it off yet. You had your jacket off for a month Mark take it off again." I replied, "That was only because it was summer break and we were nowhere but this house." He replied, "Mark take off your jacket now or you won't get your phone back." He took my phone out of my hand. I replied, "Fine you win. Off goes the jacket." I took it off and left it off for 30 seconds and then put it back on. I asked, "Can I have my phone back now?" He handed me my phone back and I got in the car and mom drove me to school. I came out to them this summer and they haven't said or done anything bad to me they just treated me as myself and no one else. When we got to school I opened my door and got out. Mom said, "Bye Mark have a good day. I'll probably see you after school." I replied, "Bye mom." Then went into the school. Someone I thought was my friend Joe spread it around the middle school last year and that's why I left hopefully for good.

Sean's POV

I walked out of the principal's office I'm supposed to show around the new kid Mark. I immediately found someone who I didn't recognize and I automatically knew it was the new kid. This school district is pretty small so I knew everyone at this school they all went to school with me last year and were in the same classes as me so I knew all of them and their names. I walked up to him. I said, "Hey I'm Sean. You're Mark right?" He replied, "Yeah. How'd you know?" I replied, "I was told we'd have a new student named Mark and I didn't recognize you so I put two and two together." I heard Phil Basted yelling from behind us. Phil B is the school jock, and bully together. All of his friends are homophobic, and so is he. Phil B yelled, "Hey faggot Sean!" Oh no. He ran up and pushed me into the wall and punched me a ton. Mark yelled, "Hey asshole!!" Phil B snapped his head towards Mark and replied, "What do you want child?" Mark replied, "You want to hurt him?! Don't even try I can knock you out in two hits!! Now, I suggest that if you don't want to get hit, you get your ass out of here now!!" Phil B ran off almost in tears. I said, "Mark, you know you didn't have to do that right? I mean... I'm happy you did, but it's not every day you see Phil run away like that." Mark replied, "Hey, we gay's and bi's stick together." I replied, "Which are you?" He replied, "Bi." I replied, "Really? Me too." He replied questioningly, "Well since we basically already know everything about each other, wanna be friends?" I replied, "Yeah sure." We walked over to Felix's locker. I said, "Hey Felix." Felix replied, "Oh hey Jack who's this?" I replied, "Mark, this is Felix, Felix this is Mark." Mark shook Felix's hand. Mark said, "Hey nice to meet you Felix I'm new around here." Felix replied, "I figured." Just then Phil Lester walked over. Phil said, "Hey Jack what's up?" I replied, "The sky." Phil replied, "Not what I meant but good answer." I replied, "Phil this is Mark, Mark this is Phil." Mark replied, "Nice to meet you, Phil I already met the other Phil. Man what an asshole." Phil replied, "I know right." I replied, "Well we should go I have to show Mark around." Phil and Felix replied, "Alright see you guys later." I replied, "See you later boys." After I said that Mark and I ran off so I could show him around the school. Mark said, "Sean do you think Felix wants us to date?" I replied, "He ships me with every guy I meet including himself give him a couple days he'll stop trust me." Mark replied, "Ok Sean. I noticed that I'm the only one that's calling you Sean and you haven't stopped me yet. Do you mind if I ask why?" I replied, "Actually I think you make me like my given name but I don't go by it at home or at school the teachers are usually the only ones who call me Sean except you and I don't really mind it's just... My birth father died and he's the one who picked out my name. I'm stuck with my stepdad I mean he's nice but not as nice as my birth father was. I miss him but I have to focus on school." As soon as I finished I felt tears form in my eyes. Mark said, "I'm sorry S-Jack I didn't mean to upset you." I replied, "Don't worry about it, it was years ago." Mark replied, "I have an idea." I replied, "Follow me I know just the place to talk to you." I grabbed his hand and led him to the hill at the edge of the campus. I asked, "Now what was this idea of your's?" Mark replied, "This." After he said that he leaned in to kiss me and then he closed the small gap between us. We kissed for about ten minutes before Dan and Phil found us. Dan tapped on my shoulder. I pulled from the kiss and said, "Oh hey Dan, hey again Phil." Dan replied, "Remember what happened with your last boyfriend? Jack you can't do that again you fell apart when he broke up with you." I replied, "Can you not tell Mark about that. I was just getting to know him. He kissed me." Dan replied, "Oh maybe it's because you took him to the top of the cherry hill Jack that's how you got this one to fall in love with you." (Sorry couldn't help myself I had to Yandere Simulator somehow). I replied, "Whatever Dan he's your's now. I gave him to you and we're still friends aren't we?" Dan replied, "Yes Jack." I replied, "Oh by the way this is Mark, Mark this is Dan and you've already met Phil I do believe." Mark replied, "I do believe so. Hey Dan." Dan replied, "Hey Mark you're the new kid right?" Mark replied sarcastically, "No I'm so not the new kid named Mark Edward Fischbach." We all laughed until the first bell rang. I said, "Well that's our cue to get to class." Mark replied, "Ok Sean let's go." He showed me his schedule and I smiled we have all the exact same classes at the same times. I showed Mark my schedule and he smiled back at me. We went to the first period which was Math with Ms.Durst. I hate her but I have her for Math and English and so does Mark.
