Chapter 3

"Hello? Am I speaking to Mrs. Belle? Senior editor of Pages?" I found myself asking into the phone, the next day with Stella right beside me.

"Yes. May I know who I am speaking to?" Mrs. Belle answered.

"Um, it's Ashley Perkins. I had won the photography competition..." I trailed off, a little nervous now.

"Oh, yes. I remember. Well, did you make your choice?" She asked in a very professional manner that admittedly was a bit intimidating.

"Uh, yeah, I did. I've decided that I will go for the trip." I spoke, emphasizing on my willingness.

"Ok, I'm glad you chose to go, Ms. Perkins. Have you decided the dates yet?" She asked next.

"Yeah, I want to leave on the tenth and be back on the thirtieth of this month." I told her.

"Hmm, well, do you mind dropping in again today and leaving a copy of your passport at the reception desk by noon?"

"No, I don't. I'll leave my passport copy by twelve for sure. When will I get my tickets?"

"Oh, they will be e-mailed to you latest by tomorrow night." She answered.

"Ok, thank you."

"Very well. Have a nice day." She said before cutting the call.

"Well...?" Stella asked as soon as I slipped my phone into my back pocket.

"She said that I will have to give them a copy of my passport by noon and the tickets will be e-mailed to me by tomorrow night." I answered.

"Well, then let's go. We'll drop your passport copy off first and then go for shopping. You will need clothes and bags for your vacation!" Stella said, tugging me into my room.

-----------------------------------------

Once we dropped off my passport copy, we, like Stella suggested, went shopping. Of course we didn't go all crazy in the mall like spoilt teenage girls because 1. We weren't rich and 2. We weren't teenagers; but, I have to admit that seeing a few 'sale!' signs on Forever 21 made my day. Really.

"Ok, can we go get something to eat now?" Stella asked for the tenth time today. I really don't know why but I wasn't exactly feeling very hungry right now. Even though, I was standing and trying clothes from the past three (or more) hours.

"Yeah, yeah, just give me a minute. I'm just going to try these two jeans and this one pair of shorts and these two shirt-"

"Oh my goodness, Ash! Can we please do this later? You know I love shopping, but this is too much, even for me! I will faint if I stand here for even a minute! Besides, we cannot buy that much." Stella cut me off, lowering her voice at the latter.
