Abby's POV
Pain was all I could feel. I looked down at my abdominal and saw a gunshot wound. I quickly pressed my hands on the wound desperately trying to stop the external bleeding. I tried to yell out for help, but instead I chocked on what tasted like my blood. I'm starting to feel weaker and weaker by the second. My legs finally gave out and I fell onto the ground. I felt leaves under me as I laid on my back. I looked around to see if anyone was around, but all I see are trees, leaves, and rocks. Why am I in the woods?
"Help," I managed to say faintly. I feel like all my energy has been drained out of me.
"Abby!" I heard someone scream. I then felt my head being lifted gently onto what felt like a sweater. "Oh my God! Abby hold on the ambulance is coming," said this guy I didn't know. He had a brown buzz cut and beautiful hazel eyes. He ripped the bottom of his shirt and put it on my wound.
"I'm so sorry Abby. This is all my fault. I'm so sorry. Please stay awake, I love you. Please don't leave me," he said whispering the last part. I could see tears running down from his eyes and down his cheek. I felt his hands press down on my wound. At this point I felt too weak to do anything so my hands fell to my sides. I wanted to tell him that it wasn't his fault, but I couldn't. My eyes suddenly felt heavy as I was drifting to darkness. Who was this kind stranger and how does he know my name? The last thing I heard was my name being called and the faint sound of the ambulance.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
I shot my head up from my pillow as I was heavily breathing. I touched my forehead with the back of my hand and realized I was sweating. I slammed my hand on the alarm clock to stop that annoying beeping. 'It was a dream' I thought and groaned as I fell back down on my bed. 'More like nightmare.'
"Abby, it's time to get up," my brother said from the other side of the door. "You don't want to be late for your first day of school."
"Okay Jay, I'm up," I called back. I got out of bed, grabbed a towel, and went to the bathroom that's in my room. I took my clothes off and slipped into the shower. I almost forgot that we moved from Pennsylvania to Beacon Hills. I lived in Beacon Hills when I was younger, but we moved for some unknown reason. The painful memories surged within me. I couldn't hold back the tears. My mom, dad, Jayden, my little sister, Belle, and me were in a car accident. A 3/4 ton pickup truck going fifty miles an hour crashed straight into the driver's side of the car. Jay and I survived the collision, but my parents and Belle didn't. My dad died on impact. My mom took a bad blow to the head when she hit the window on the passenger side. The same thing happened to Belle. She was behind the passenger seat.
Me and Jayden couldn't handle the stares we got back from Pennsylvania. It's like they were waiting for us to crack and break down. What they didn't know was that we did break down, but behind closed doors where no one could see us. Our parents raised us to stay strong and to keep moving forward.
After about 15 minutes I turned off the water, wrapped my towel around me, and got out of the bathroom. As I was blow drying my hair I looked in the mirror and noticed that my face was still a little wet. I wonder if it was from the shower or from the crying. Maybe it was both. Anyways, it's a little breezy outside so I decided to wear a white tank top, my mom's white knitted sweater, denim shorts, and white vans. Call me weird, but after the accident all I've been wearing are my mom's sweaters. They make me feel closer to her and plus they're comfy. My mom was like my best friend aside from Belle and Rosie. I also put on my gold necklace that says "Love" in cursive. My dad gave it to me as birthday present last year. I put the necklace behind my sweater for safe keeping, grabbed my aqua jansport backpack and headed down stairs.
"Morning," I said as I sat down at the table.
"Morning Abs," muffled Jayden as he was stuffing his face with pancakes. I smiled at him as I grabbed a blueberry muffin from the muffin basket in the middle of the table and started munching on it. "Morning sweetie," said Rosie as she took a sip of her orange juice. Rosie is my brother's wife. She is the best sister-in-law anyone could ask for. She was the one that pulled Jayden and me from the depths of depression. She helped us in a way that no one would ever understand and I'm grateful to have someone like her in my life.
After breakfast, I grabbed my car keys to my silver Chevy Cobalt and headed to the door. "Bye guys, I'll see you after school," I said as I opened the front door. "Bye," they yelled in unison as I closed the door behind me. I got into my car and was off to school.

I arrived at Beacon Hills High and there were a lot of students and staff outside. "Great," I muttered. I parked my car next to an adorable blue jeep. I got out of the car and made my way towards the building. As I was walking, I bumped into someone.
"I'm so sorry," I said looking at the person who I bumped into.
"No it was my fault, I wasn't looking," he said. "I-I'm Stiles. Stiles Stilinski," he stuttered while extending his hand.
"I'm Abigail Bennett, but my friends call me Abby," I said shaking his hand and then releasing it. "Do you happen to know where the main office is? I'm new here."
"Yeah, you go through those doors and make a left," he said pointing to the building ahead of us. "Thanks," I said politely and walked away. So much for staying invisible. Why does Stiles look so familiar? I pushed the thought to the back of my head and pulled the school doors open. I stepped inside and took a deep breath.
So far, so good.
