Trapped in a Board Game

Entry to Radish's Kik Comps, Radish's Arcade, Level 19

Sky's POV

~~~~F L A S H B A C K~~~~

5 years ago...

"Hey, Sky, happy birthday!" My friend, Naomi, greeted.

"Oh, thank you. I appreciate that you are here in my party," I thanked her as someone rang the doorbell.

"Hey, Sky! We are here for your party!"

"Oh, Naomi, looks like our friends are here!"

I opened the door and there, stood four of my friends, Glitch, Stab, Poke, and Anna.

"Hi, guys!" Naomi screamed and she hugged Anna.

"Come on, let's start eating!" Poke rubbed his belly while Stab nodded.

"Mom!" I called my mother for our meals.

"Honey, you and your friends can now eat." It turns out it's ready. "If you need me, I'll be in our neighbor's," said Mother as she left our house.

"Yay! Let's dive in!" Glitch happily said.

We started filling our stomachs with the food I have for my birthday.

After we eat, we all agreed to play some games.

"Since we are in your house, Sky, do you have some video games or board games or something?" Naomi said.

"Oh, I have Monopoly. Wanna play?" They all nodded a yes and we rushed to my room.

As I prepared the board, my friends were just telling stories to each other and when it was ready, we all sat down.

But suddenly, things turn weird...

"Huh? Why did the battleship move?" Poke asked out of nowhere.

"You are just imagining things," Stab whispered at Poke.

"B-but, I saw it, too!" Anna nervously shouted.

"Guys, just stop the prank, we are here to have some fun!" I said to not destroy the fun. "It's my turn, so be quiet."

As I rolled the dice, excitement filled me in as my token landed on the board with a chance card.

"Yes, I must be lucky." I said to myself.

But, as I flipped the card, there were no words.

"This is getting weirder by the moment," Anna muttered.

I just shrugged it off and continued to flip cards but all of them do not have any words.

Questions floated in our mind. There was one last Chance Card left.

And, it said...

Welcome to Monopoly.

I see my friends pass out as my consciousness started to drift away...

I am Sky, 16, and that's how I got here. In the world of Monopoly. At once, I was happy since it was every child's dream to be in a game but as grow older, we realized the horrors of our entrapment.

We are not in reality. We are in some kind of nightmare and we will live here for eternity if we do not find a way to escape.

But, is there really a way to escape?
