23 years ago..."Fenom! Slow down!" a voice called. Fenom slowed down and turned, her wings keeping her in the sky. "What is it Looper?" Fenom said laughing a little as she hovered in the air.
"I told you not to call me that!"
"Sure, when the moons fall from the sky!"
Looper gave a pouty face, his freckles on his cheeks seemed to become more red than ginger. Fenom smiled and stifled a giggle. Looper rolled his eyes and flapped closer to hover near her, his bright gray-blue wings show with pale light as the feathers shown with light leaking through them. Fenom leaned towards him, being taller and all, she smiled and then looked at him with her vivid purple and green eyes. "Come on Looper!" She smiled showing her teeth, "what's going on?" She asked.
The jay winged boy blushed with bright red cheeks showing and pulled out a letter from his brown and blue pockets. "I--I wanted to give this to you!" Looper said, brightly blushing, seemingly red in the face now.
Fenom grabbed the letter and began to open it with nimble pale fingers.
"Fenom Orchid Vermillion!" A voice boomed. Fenom could barely turn to the voice when suddenly a hand reached for her arm and yanked her away. "Ahh! D--dad! L--let me go!" She protested trying to fly back as the hand pulled her down. "Come with me daughter dearest." Her father, king Duskbreaker, said with a ruff, sharp tone. "Looper! Help me!" She called out to her friend--Luipen.
Her friend seemed to looked down prettified in a way to never defy the king, the king of the Scorpion Star Region. One of the most powerful regions of Batrinan. Fenom reached out again at Looper, still looking down. "Daughter, your mother awaits your arrival home." Her stated as he yanked her down to a platform.
Fenom nodded and looked down. "You are a mess, go clean up before your arrival at Queen Solaria's court--along with your brothers and sister." He grumbled and opened the door. Fenom's raven wings drooped down as she walked behind her father. Fenom hated standing next to her family, always being compared to her mother and father, even her own siblings and even aunts and uncles. She could understand why though, Fenom was the oddball out of her own family. Fenom's family crest (on her father's side) had been a Crow for as long as she could read. But her mother had the royal blood and in result had the dominant symbol, an Owl.
Fenom watched her father walk away, she stood in the room--more specifically, the Writer's Room. Before leaving she saw her father wave to a servant, telling something and walking away. Fenom walked towards the doorway when suddenly she was stopped by the servant. "U--um.. miss, his Majesty tells me to prepare you for a meeting with Queen Solaria..." she said with a anxious tone. Fenom sighed and nodded. "Yes, servant... tell me your name, just so i don't feel bad about calling you 'servant' all the time..."
"I--uh--yes! I am Thimble! Ryle Thimble!" The servant stuttered. Fenom nodded and started to her room, which was at the end of the hall. Fenom's steps echoed in the dark marble hall. "Miss... Thimble, do you have any knowledge of why i must see my... glorious mother?"
Ryle seemed to freeze. Her dusty brown feathers ruffled and her short stature now tense. Ryle shook her head and pulled back her blonde hair. "Sh--she is speaking about... private, matters i am totally unaware of! None whatsoever!" Fenom gave skeptical sigh and continued towards her room. What could mom want me for? No.. what could mom want all of the family there for? Her questions became darker with answers. To her she wanted to believe the light hearted answers she told herself but they were like bandages that were being pulled off, slowly.
Ryle lead them to her room and gave a bow as Fenom entered, pushing the doors open to reveal a large marble room with golden carvings and bookshelves filled to the brim with books of all kinds. Soft green carpets lay on the stone floor like grass on dirt, as if it was grown there itself.
"M--ms? U--um... let's start g--getting you ready f--for your pr--presents with the q--queen!" Ryle stuttered.
"Ahh, yes." Fenom nodded and watched Ryle walk out and call for several maids to come in and help dress her.
