Leading a royal life isn't always full of bewitching ballgowns and lavish parties. Sure, a colossal and exquisite palace makes sure to take your breath awaits you every waking moment. But Zara Astrid didn't want that filling her life. She wanted sim...

I watched as the all-too-familiar scenery of our wide garden morph into a series of skyscrapers, houses, and shops. People walked along the sidewalks, not bothered by the cars zooming past them.
We've arrived in the city proper! The place was so much livelier than it looked from my room's veranda. Children ran around the enormous park beside the brick clock tower, shops and houses surrounding it. I even caught a japanese restaurant filled with customers beside the clock tower.
Oh, my god. I'm hungry now. Dear sushi, come to meee!
"Zara, get away from the window already. Have mercy on your poor nose."
"Oh, shush, Amaya," I replied, keeping my face pressed to the window. "It's my first time out. Cut me some slack."
"Don't blame us when your nose turns to that of a pig," I saw Adrian shrug through the glass' reflection.
I turned my head around, plastering a sweet smile on my face. "At least mine still has to turn into one. Too bad yours already looks like one, no?"
"It's like you're insulting my parents, too."
"Hmm, I wonder. Are you adopted?"
"Oh, shut it, you two," Bryce interrupted.
"Aw," Lionel and Amaya whined, "it was just getting good!"
Lancelot pouted. "Such a killjoy, Bry-Bry."
"I'd rather not be covered with chocolate balls when we arrive, thank you very much," Bryce motioned at my hands. I stuck my tongue out, dropping the candies back in its container.
Bryce shook his head. "You guys are such children."
"Spoken like a true old hag," Lancelot applauded, Lionel, Adrian, Amaya, and I clapping with him.
"You are such idiots."
Lionel put a hand over his heart. "Thanks, gramps. We try to match your wits the best we can."
"Whatever," Bryce rolled his eyes. "Just make sure you five remember the king's only condition."
"Yeah, yeah. I'm not Zara, crown princess of Zoarn Kingdom. I'm Zara Reyes, a family friend of yours and cannot control magic."
Dad is a walking cliché encyclopedia, I swear. How many times have I read this situation in a story before? He even made me wear black contacts to hide the silver eyes only Zoarn Kingdom's royal family have. The big round glasses are really bothering me, too. And my poor wavy bronde locks, now purely brown, got tortured by my mom who straighten them. She even morphed my side swept bangs to those straight ones which I've always hated.
