Chapter Three - Parents

"Good morning Angel." Patch said when his daughter walked in the kitchen. "Morning dad" Iz grabbed the cereal box and walked over to the refrigeraytor. "You're up early on a Saturday!" Iz rolled her eyes "I had trouble sleeping." Nora came in and gave her husband a kiss. Iz admired the way they loved each other even after all those years. "Morning honey." her mom said when she took the cereal box. "Don't bother" Iz said "there is no milk." Nora looked at Patch. "You forgot the milk again?" "I told you I'm terrible at grocery shopping!" Iz grabbed an apple and went to her room. Her dream replayed through her mind. Would it mean something? She shook her thoughts away and took a shower.

When she walked back to the kitchen she overheard her parents talking. "We have to tell her Patch. It's going to happen on her 16th birthday and that is just 2 weeks away!" Nora sat down. "I know honey but how are we supposed to start the chat!" a sigh. "We have to tell her she might be in danger." "You know I protect her just the way I did to you." "Yeah until the point you almost died and I was the one that had to rescue you." What? Her dad almost died for her mom? "Patch we are going to tell her this week, the sooner the better." "Her life will change forever Nora." Nora sighed "As if I don't know! I had to find out the hard way that I'm a Nephilim!" Nephilim? There is that word again. What does it mean? Iz walked away.

Aunt Vee came to visit. Vee wasn't really Iz' aunt but she was a very close friend to Nora so we treated her as family. "How are you? You look gorgeous as always!" Vee said. "Thanks aunt Vee, I'm fine." "What are you gonna do with your sweet sixteen?" Iz looked surprised, she just completely forgot about her birthday coming up. "I don't know, nothing special." Vee looked shocked. "You're joking right? You have to do something! Sixteen is a special age!" She looked serious. "I don't like party's." Iz rolled her eyes. "It doesn't have to be a party, go out and do something nice with you friends, like..." Vee made a weird thinking face. "Go to Delphic!" Nora and Patch heard the name and looked to each other. Delphic is a amusement park right next to the beach. It was build by fallen angels. Under the park there was a underground system with 'houses' for the fallen angels. There has happened allot in Delphic. "Does that place still exist?" Vee looked at Nora and Patch who walked in to the room. "I have no clue." she said. "You could always go somewhere else?" was the conclusion of Nora. Iz stood up and went to her room. Why did her parents walked in the room as if they heard the devil speak? Would Delphic have to do something with that strange word 'Nephilim'? No matter how, she was going to find out.

Iz had changed her PJ's for a black sweater and a pair of black jeans. She had her fashion style from her dad, he wears black all the time and so did she. She loved the color. Iz grabbed her black converse sneakers and looked into the mirror. She put on some mascara and eyeliner and went downstairs. "I'm gonna go over to Janes house!" she yelled randomly to anyone who would hear it. "Okay, be home by six!" was her moms reaction. Iz shut the front door and got into her Jeep. She got the car from her dad cause he knew she would love it when she would see it. And that was exactly what happened, she felt in love with it.

Jane was all dressed up as if she knew Iz would come. "Hey girl, what are you doing here?" Iz was still in her car and Jane leaned into the window of the Jeep. "We are going to Borderline, my treat!" Jane got in the car and they drove away.

"How come so suddenly?" Jane asked. "Well.." Iz started "I was deadly bored and starving so why not go to a Mexican restaurant!" Jane laughed. She wasn't used to the fact that Iz did something impulsive. Normally Jane was the one who randomly showed up and took her to places. The Jeep slowed down and Iz turned the motor off. They got out of the car and went inside. It wasn't a big restaurant but it had a nice vibe. Iz remembered her dad telling her that he used to work here. They got a table and ordered some food. Iz and Jane talked about everything and nothing when Iz popped the question. "Do you know what Nephilim means?" Jane looked confused. "Nephi.. What?" "I heard my parents talk about Nephilim or something but I don't know what it means?" Iz looked serious. "Is it even English? Jane replied. She sighed, she won't get any far with Jane so she changed the subject into her birthday. "Vee came up with the idea to go to Delphic. It's a amusement park near the beach. Have you heard of it?" Jane looked with a impression on her face that said 'are you kidding me?' "You haven't heard from it? Which time do you live in Isabelle!" Iz rolled her eyes "Don't call me that way." Iz hated it when someone called her Isabelle. Only her parents could call her that. "Are we done here?" Jane asked. "I want to drop by the mall before we go home." They got up and walked outside.
