Cherish's Dad POV
"Girls breakfast is ready!" I yelled up the stairs. I trotted back to kitchen. Not long after I heard the girls heavy footsteps slowly making their way down the stairs.
Livy trotted down the hallway sleepily as she sat down and waited me to serve her. I poured her orange juice and placed two waffles on her plate. She looked disgusted as she observed the burnt waffles. I started to pour Cherish's juice and set her plate. "Cherry! breakfast is ready!" I yelled again. "Where is your sister?" I looked down at Livy as she played with her waffles.
"I don't know. She didn't come out of her room. I don't really care either." Livy rolled her eyes at me as she continued scrapeing off the burnt peices of the waffles. I walked up the wooden stairs and down the hall to Cherish's room. I lightly knocked on her door. With no answer I let myself in walking in slowly."Cherish, sweety time for breakfast." I walked to her slowly.
She was looking out the window seeming to hold something in her fragile hand. Her fingers were running through it, seeming to like the texture. I grabbed her shoulder to turn her around. She slowly turned with her bloodshot eyes at me and stared deep inside me. I quickly looked away feeling scared by my own daughter. I saw the little rock in her hand that she was twirling between her fingers.
"Honey let me see." I reached for her hand but was suddenly rejected.
"No! Get away from me!" She started screaming and throughing her hands at me. I swatted them and grabbed her arms. She started kicking and screaming louder and harder. I took the rock and shoved it in my pocket and sat her on her bed. I tried restraining her but she kept fighting. I heard Livy making her way upstairs.
Cherish screamed and suddenly went silent. She fell onto her pillow as she banged her head on the headboard. Her mouth opened and started dripping out blood. Her lips and face turned shades of blue, then purple like she was being suffocated. Her head started bobbing unconrolably against the pillow as Livy walked in.
"Dad! Stop! Your hurting her!" Livy pushed me away from the bed and tried to reach her sister. I grabbed Livy and threw her to my feet restraining her for any move. Livy started crying in my legs.
Cherish suddenly sat up, twisted her head and rolled her eyes back. She slammed against the bed rolling onto the floor and started foaming in the mouth. Livy and I both let go of eachother and ran to Cherish. Cherish slammed her head against the ground, then stopped moving all together.
. . .
10:00 pm
"She will be fine. She just has some minor head trama, and a bruised rib. We will let you know when we will let her go."
"Thank you Doctor." I said as I hugged Lizy and grabbed Cherish's hand. Cherish was covered with IV's and and wires. She was so pale and so droopy and I couldn't let my daughter be like this. I grabbed her hand tighter as she started to shake her head no. She started saying "Let go. Let go. Let go of me!" She sat up as smacked my face. I fell to the end table and banged my head. The nurses started rushing in and carried me and Livy out of the room.
12:00 pm
I woke up in a bed with a bandaged head and Livy next to me curled up in a chair. A nurse walked in and held water and some crackers on a tray. I willingly grabbed the tray while the nurse just stared at the side of my face. Her eyes were wide with fear as she slowly stepped out of the room and closed the door. She then broke down in tears while doctors and other nurses surrounded her. She shortly turned and pointed to my room with wide eyes and tears as a doctor walked in slowly. He smiled and greated me with a firm handshake.
"Hi, I'm Doctor Tanner." he looked at me with hesitation. "I was kind of concerned with you and Cherish's event that happened this evening. She told me you were hurting her in her bed here, and in her bedroom at your house." He looked so disapointed. Dr. Tanner sat down on my bed and looked down at his shoes.
"But it seems like she hurt you more. Um, you actually needed stitches going across your cheek. I know you probably don't remember much, but your daughter severly hurt you." He handed me a mirror. When did this happen? It was all a blur to me.
I picked up the mirror and held it to me face. I touched my cheek. How could this be my daughter? My cheek was slashed across with a claw mark and stitches. There was also a faint mark of a purple star next to the gashing whole. Where have I seen this symbol before? I placed the mirror down on the end table and uncovered the covers. I walked out of the room into empty silent hall. I walked to Cherish's room. I slowly opened the door, and sat in a chair in the corner of the room. Cherish was covered in restraints and more wires.
What has happened to you Cherry? My sweet Cherry. Ever since the mental institution you have been acting so strange. Why are you so obsessed with the rock? Just come back please. I buried my head in my hands and just let my cries out. I grabbed the stone out of my pocket and examined it. The rock was purple with gray streaks going around it.
I dropped the rock with a sound of a scream. The rock rolled uder the bed with the accidental kick of my foot when I stood up. Cherish screamed at me and broke the restraints. She darted at me when the lights went out with a loud bang and a grunt from me slamming on the floor.
