Earlier today, we were traveling down a highway. We're about a seventh of the way to the gates do yea, we have a long way to go. We heard growls and saw a mob of zombies coming towards us. We didn't have time to turn backwards, so we took a left down a street. Nikki scooped up Sparky, seeing how he was bound to fight them.
We ran into a carnival that must have been visiting the county. We had no where to run.
Sparky jumped out of Nikki's arms and ran toward a fun house. Nikki ran after him. Carter was about to follow Nikki when I grabbed his shoulder. There was some weird creepy, gray mist coming from the house.
"Am I the only one who sees the mist?" I asked Carter.
"I see it too, but I have to stay with Nikki." he responded. And ran after her.
I rolled my eyes and followed him. As I ran, I started to fire at the zombies. I was able to pick of about ten before I made it to the house. Carter was holding the door for me and as I got inside, he dishes the door shut. Sparky bit off a bar and nudged it to Nikki. Then she placed it between the handles of the door.
"Well isn't that perfect?" says Carter, "We're trapped in a fun house with no way out and with zombies on the other side of the door."
"You say that like we're going to die." Nikki responds. "All we have to do is get to is get to the top of this thing and pick off the zombies one after another."
"I take it Nikki was the smart child and Carter was the pessimist of the family." I asked them.
"Yep." Nikki said.
"Ye- HEY!" Carter yelled at me.
More mist came to view. It came from the mirror maze.
"Anybody else see that?" asked Carter.
"Yes." me and Nikki said in union.
Sparky started to growl at maze. I'm starting to think he can sense something wrong with maze. Then again, dogs see in black and white. He probably smells something. But then again, I don't really know what he is...
"Something's not right here." I say.
"Well duh." Carter says, "Even Sparky thinks so!"
"Well we need to go somewhere." says Nikki, motioning towards the maze.
"Ugh." says Carter.
We all start to follow Sparky through the maze. Surprisingly, he navigated through it with ease. Problem was, he wasn't leading is to the exit.
He lead us to where the mist was coming from. It was a mirror. But it was blue and glowing. We walked up to the mirror and just...stopped. We didn't know what to do. The mirror almost seemed like it was alive.
Sparky barked at it and hid behind my leg, still barking.
Nikki took a step forward, but me and Carter each grabbed an arm.
"Ok. Now I know your crazy." says Carter.
"You really want to touch that? I mean, Even Sparky's scared." I say.
The dog in fact had his talk touched between his legs and he was shaking. He still had that mean look in his eye though.
"What could go wrong?" Nikki asked.
"Um. A lot. You could die our disappear." said Carter, being pessimistic. Personally I was getting curious and wanted to touch the mirror myself. But if I did, I'm pretty sure Nikki would do the same and Carter would throw a tantrum.
