Reborn (Harry Potter fanfic)

And peacefully I stood

Cassy P.O.V.

A lot of time had passed. I was successful in my mission of making Sev and Siri polite to each other. Sev had returned to the castle after ensuring we were all fully recovered. I had sprung on him a hug when we were alone. He had stiffened up but to my suprise he had returned it.
"Cassy. I never thanked you for being my friend." He said in a low voice.
"That's because you don't need to." I replied when he finally pulled apart from our brief hug.
His eyes went dark. "I never thanked Lily and I will regret that for the rest of my life."
"Sev. You don't need to thank me. Being your friend is enough. Besides -  you saved us. I'm alive because of you." I told him, reffering to the werewolf situation.
"You and Lily were the best friends I had ever had. I couldn't save her. It was the least I could do. You saved me from myself. Thank you."
I grinned and gave him another short hug  "You are very welcome."
Then he had left.
Sirius had pretended not to care, but I was positive that he missed Sev a little after their new found 'ability-to-bear-each-other-the-tiniest-bit' as Siri had put it.

I strolled into the lounge in a good mood. But my good mood was cut short.
I was met by Lupin and Sirius bent by the fire. They both looked white as a ghost. Sirius looked crazed and his hands were shaking.
"What's wrong?" I demanded - Remus pointed to a note that had just come through the floo.
I picked it up and read it.

' Harry has gone to the ministry believing you are held captive in the hall of prophesies. It is a death eater trap - SS '

I stared blankly at the note.
Sirius stood up. "I'm going."
"Me too." I said.
Remus just nodded.

At that moment another letter through and lit up the floo. It landed on the floor face up and we immediately stared at it.

' Dumbledore is taking the order. We believe that plan is to kill Sirius too. Don't go - SS '

"Rubbish. That's my godson." Sirius bristled with anger.
"I'm going to get him." He growled.
I nodded.

Sirius picked up a handfull of powder and jumped into the flames. Remus and I followed - all yelling "Minestry of Magic."

We all ran down to the floor that they were in. Sirius took charge. I had never been deep into the minestry but he knew where he was going.

When we arrived at the scene - it was a battleground. Explosions going off everywhere. Hexes, curses and unforgivables flying everywhere.
I saw Bellatrix and scowled, firing curses at her that she only just managed to miss. I had a personal issue with her - after all it was her fault the death eaters discovered me the first time.

I was on Sirius' six - shielding him from any curses that came from behind. He was doing the same for me as we fired curse after curse, moving as one unstopable force in the centre of the battle field. We took down death eaters one at a time, and were im ferocious duels with at least three each.

I saw my Uncle Albus firing powerful spell after spell. I couldn't see who he was duelling though- the movements were too fast. Blurs of green and red burst over him.

I looked over at Remus who was duelling one on one with a masked figure. He was also tryjng to get closer to the centre of the battle - near to Harry.

Sirius and I kept firing curse after curse. We were unstoppable. We were stood on a platform - next to a wierd looking veil. It flapped slowly, almost in slowmotion. Sirius and I took turns blasting spells. We couldnt focus on what was going on in the rest of the battle. But then I caught sight of Bellatrix again. She had her wand at the side of a girl's head. She had long blonde hair and a furious stare in her eyes. She was struggling and struggling to get out of Bellatrix's grasp.
I instantly ran towards the girl to help her before Bellatrix could ruin another girl's life and the people who loved her.
Running away from Sirius - my greatest mistake.

As I ran towards her, the world seemed to go in slow motion. Explosions and crashes went off as I raced towards Bellatrix. Seeing me, she cackled - like she had planned it all. Then I realised.... she had.
She threw the girl onto the floor and turned her wand on Sirius. I had ran away from him to help - leaving him unprotected.
I turned back as fast as I could, I couldn't shield the spell. She was too fast. The light she hit him with was red - not green. A stunning spell. He toppled backwards. I just reached him. He fell into the veil. My body being small, I couldn't pull him back - for he was a full grown man. I was pulled in too.

Then the world stopped. Just like that. The explosions that had gone off. Everything was silenced. No ringing in my ears. I stared at the man who had fallen in front of me in the veil. He had stopped falling - he looked like he was in limbo.

Then I heard a scream. I looked behind me through the rippled curtain. Harry. He had seen us fall through. Lupin held him tightly, trying to calm him.

Then I blinked. They were gone. The only life was the stunned one I held onto. He had fallen backwards but stopped, like the moment was paused. I held him tightly.

I blinked again. There was nothing. No ringing in my ears. No explosions in the background. No life in Sirius's face. All was quiet. All was calm. And a steady relaxation washed over me.

And peacefully I stood.

Cassy- "Well they don't want you to."

Moi- "Of course they do. They love me! I updated twice in one day!"

Cassy- "Not anymore. Look what you just did to me."

Moi- "What did I just do to you?"

Cassy- "You made it really dramatic. I wanna know what happens next. Am I dead? Is Siri dead? What was the veil thing?

Moi- You'll just have to wait and see.....
