i. medicine
It was easy to overlook the ordinary
in the buzzing streets of Bucharest.
The city was a grand mosaic of palaces
and museums, theaters and churches; all
overwhelmingly unique and leaving no
room for the quiet shades and human
beings who walked lightly among the
bright and elegant. Aurora Eden has
always been blinded by awe ever since
she stepped foot in Romania and its
extravagant capital. But as the days
passed, she came to realize that there
was an elegance in the simple colors
beneath the blinding city. Like the strange
man who had somehow slipped unnoticed
into the empty apartment across the hall,
the one who had glid past the ignorant
gazes of those who looked but did not
see. He ducked his head low and covered
his eyes with a dark cap, always cautious,
never around for more than a few seconds.
And somehow, the more the air stirred
with his presence, the more Aurora had an
impulsive curiosity to find out the
color of those eyes that flickered in this
ghost among the shadows.

in romanian, the text will be italicized.
