Chapter 3: Hayden's Secret

                          Hayden’s POV

At that moment when Travis jumped off his swing, I manipulated the air to bring Travis down to the ground softly and safely. Knowing that he was safely on the ground I ran over to him and pulled him to me. As I was hugging him I looked up at Derek, I saw him looking shocked and confused, but I’ll deal with him later. Right now I need to focus on my brother.

            I pulled Travis back, but didn’t let him go and looked into his eye, “Never do that again, you scared me half to death.”

            “Sorry sissy, I wanted to fly.”

            “I know, but you can’t just jump off of something so high off the ground. Do you understand?”

            “Yes, I’m sorry.”

            And with that I pulled him back into my arms and picked him off of the ground.

            “I think we better go,” I said to Derek who still looked in shock.

            And he just shook his head. We left the park and headed back to the Stilinski house. When we arrived I took Travis inside and gave him to mom and headed back out to talk to Derek. As I stepped outside I saw Derek looking up at the night sky. I walked up to him and put my hands on his shoulders.

            “Hey!” I whispered to him.

            “Hey!” He whispered back.

            “You want to take a walk and talk about what happened earlier.”

            “Yeah.”

            We started walking and it was quite for a little while, until he broke the silence.

            “So, what the heck was that at the park?”

            “Well, let’s see. You know how you are a werewolf and there are other supernatural creatures out there?”

            He nodded his head yes.

            “There are more supernatural creatures than most think. And I am two of these creatures.”

            “So you’re a hybrid?”

            “Yes.”

            “So what are you exactly?”

            “Well, I am an elemental. Most elementals can only control one or two of the four elements. And the elements are: air, water, fire, and earth. I however, can control all four of these elements. Which makes me the strongest of the elementals.” I paused and looked over for Derek’s reaction.

            “Wow! That’s amazing. So what is your other half?”

            “Umm, well just don’t laugh when I say it.”

            “I would never laugh at you, unless I am laughing with you.”

            “Okay, well the other half of me is a mermaid. And well I am guessing you know that is, but I am also the most powerful mermaid. The reason behind that is because my real dad was the king of the mer people.”

            “Wow! That’s amazing!”

            “Really?”

            “Yeah, but even if you weren’t a hybrid you would be amazing.”
